Who's moronic, out of touch idea was this?

At best, it's wannabe American and cringeworthy. At worst, it's objectifying to women and embarrassing.

Meh not end of the world.

It depends on how its done. Give them a go, it may just be a half time thing and pre game.

The red army will always be the focus and if they are not then its purely the armies fault.

If figured it was just promo stuff like selling raffle tickets/fundraising, cheerleaders would be rather silly.

I was going off this. Val article I know but yeah.
If he scores again on Friday, Goodwin will see the new Reds Girls waving their pompoms in a reintroduction of cheerleaders at United home clashes this season.

Adelaide United had cheerleaders in its first NSL season but the concept was later abandoned.

The initiative, which is sponsored by Travel Super Store, sees the cheerleaders selling raffle tickets for a fan to win a $2000 travel voucher at each home game before they hit the pitch to wave their pompoms for the Reds men.

“But (cheerleaders are) quite big in other sports like rugby (league) but I haven’t seen this sort of stuff in football for quite a while.

“It’s a good thing it’s a way to attract more vibe and gives the crowd something else to involve them in the game.”

I'd give Greg Griffin a sponge bath if it meant this shit gets axed by the end of this month.

Yeah not a huge fan. If I wanted to objectify women I'd just open another tab on my browser.

We live in an overly sexual society where women are continually made into sex objects to sell things and this is just another example of this horrible practice.
