Membership 2015/16
With the league and discounted cup+acl tickets, theres lots of games to make membership worth while.
no. memberships so far = 3,897
Two weeks seen an increase of nearly 200 members, hopefully theres a lot more to come or the club haven't posted yet, because we should really be breaking 10k.

I signed up again just before the discount window closed. This time I didn't do the captain's club/financial membership. There was no incentive this season for someone who doesn't vote etc, I'd rather put the money towards some new merch.

I'm curious, for those not buying the captain's club membership, are you opting not to because you don't use your vote, you don't know what your money is going to or simply just it gives you nothing so you see no point?

Re: Membership 2015/16
A few seasons ago I would say there was very little point to it.I'm curious, for those not buying the captain's club membership, are you opting not to because you don't use your vote, you don't know what your money is going to or simply just it gives you nothing so you see no point?
Now the AUMC runs the AU NPL side and generates extra income thru the Castle Tavern.
Hopefully once the Playford training facility is ready to go they side will play their home games there making the facility far more viable.
In the coming seasons the NPL side will have to set up a youth system if they want to remain in the NPL. All of these things will benefit the AU HAL side in the future so I think the AUMC has never been more important.

Re: Membership 2015/16
I did it again this year. It's pretty much just a donation to the AUMC but I'm not convinced it has any real value. Especially if there's not enough take up as the only thing I can see it's useful for is so the AUMC to be able to say that it has x thousand members so how about some government funding for project y.

Re: Membership 2015/16
Yeah which is exactly why I'm gonna sign up for it this year. I've been meaning to do it in previous years but I was a lot of talk and never ended up doing it. May as well sign up this year, go to the AGM, see if my money is being put to good use (invested in the youth team etc.) and then I'll decide whether to sign up for future seasons.A few seasons ago I would say there was very little point to it.I'm curious, for those not buying the captain's club membership, are you opting not to because you don't use your vote, you don't know what your money is going to or simply just it gives you nothing so you see no point?

But I was more interested in why ppl who have signed up to it in previous seasons and have now decided not to.

I wouldn't be surprised if more people think the same as Claw and are keen to put their money into some Griff operates.
