I honestly can't ever see this happening.

Two A-league clubs would make it more plausible on paper, but we'll also have relegation at some point and could end up with 1 team using it.

If NRL is happy at Adel Oval that's done. Wallabies would be the same. And if Liverpool and clubs of that size can sell out Adel Oval, why have a smaller venue?

The commercial imperatives and agendas really have to work for a new stadium and I don't see the population or demand to make it a reality.

I'd be happy with Hindmarsh bumped up to 20-25k.
Yeah I agree. That's the most likely situation if a stadium alteration happens.
I think the Green-Mundine and NRL game would have been perfect for Hindmarsh. It's a little concerning the AEC has missed these opportunities. I wouldn't be surprised if AU starts gunning for the management of Hindmarsh and given the missed opportunities they have a plan of attack.

Think of the upside to growth of our sport should a new stadium be relocated in the CBD.

Maybe look at the AFL growth with the move to AO.

Same thing should occur with Soccer if it were in the CBD.

ease of access and better transport options will increase club meberships and attendances.

By how much, I don't know. Probably at least 20% as a minimum to anything up to 70% if I was to take a stab.

I agree. The benefits are there to see from AFL coming to the city.
Obviously it wouldn't be on the scale of AFL but roughly 20k coming into the city every weekend during the summer that otherwise wouldn't be there is a massive boost to the city.

I think expectations of 20K are reasonably realistic, for every game.

Maybe around 25 to 30k for big games against Sydney FC, WSW, and MVFC etc.

Ironically even the romans had a system where a series of retractable sails covered spectators from the blistering sum.

Griffin is probably just shooting for the stars with trying to get a new stadium in the CBD and hoping the club can at least get an upgrade and or ownership of Hindmarsh.

I mean transport is pretty good compared with what the eggball clubs had with West Lakes with both Tram and Train really close. Short commute from the CBD.

I love Hindy, but would love to have a rectangle stadium in the CBD built like AAMI park. I just think it could only be good for the sport in our state.

Although, free parking at hindmarsh is a massive positive for me lol.
