Most of the article is a bit meh but these bits were interesting for us

Adelaide United is expected to receive a $250,000 appearance fee to face Liverpool.

The Adelaide United and Melbourne Victory clash last year set a new SA soccer crowd record when more than 33,000 fans watched the 1-1 draw. Sources claimed Adelaide United made about $350,000 for the one-off clash.

As EdDog said that $250k 'would' be to cover the stupid FFA fee for big friendlies. But the match is being underwritten by LFC so they will pay it.

I heard AU v MV at AO pulled in more than that - in fact, closer to half a million AUD.

I heard it had.

Apparently the lines for the general public tickets were ridiculous.

Edit: Ticketek saying allocation exhausted on their website.

Apparently ticketmaster in Melbourne are selling tickets for this clash as well? What's that about?.. there were still tickets available through them as of lunch today..

I got a ticket with mates in the silver section.. I can understand why some dont want to attend, its enspensive.. and AO isnt great. I wouldnt be going if I could only get GA but a group of mates wanted to so I'll tag along. If it was a game I feared wouldn't get a good crowd I'd force myself to attend, but a game destined to sell out I'd happily sit out (I say that with a ticket tho

).

It's ticketmaster resale, it's individuals selling the tickets they have. Some outrageous prices too.

Hey all, looking for a Liverpool ticket at reasonable price...
I am a genuine adl utd supporter and been registered here for a while so not on the bandwagon....
I have an interesting part exchange....a brand new 3xl adl utd FFA cup replica top, purchased from club, never worn. Reason for selling is that even in a 3xl could not get it over my head!!! (Seriously, can we please ditch kappa, missing out on so much merch sales!!!).
Can someone explain why the other day in advertiser stated that state gov looking to crack down on scalpers yet if I had one I could sell for a ridiculous price on ticketmaster resale?
