Reserves game called off 15 minutes in at 0-0. Nicko A. tackled and suffered a broken leg. It was a clean challange, the cove player won the ball and the referee had played on. It was just a freak accident.

I heard the referee say to the Cove player on the way to the tunnel "if the ball wasn't there I would have sent you off". Of course he would have been sent off, he would have tackled somebody else without the ball. Very strange comment made by an FFSA official to a young player who is was very upset about what had just occurred.

Here's hoping a speedy recovery.

That sucks, hopefully the kid comes back soon!

Just a question, does this happen often? By that I mean calling off a game because of an injury to one player? Broken legs aren't that uncommon, that would mean a lot of called off games.

It was bad. His foot was pointing in a direction it shouldn't. There was a paramedic at the game and he advised against moving the player until the ambulance had arrived.

It looks like the unlucky player was Kristin Konstandopoulos.

Poor Kristin.

looks like the lads slipped up against the Cove. 4 points adrift now; some work ahead.

Both Cove and AUFC finished with 10 men as well.

I only turned up to watch the second half. Maybe the boys were rattled because the passing was slow and woeful. Although the ground at the Cove looked a bit rough so perhaps not best suited to a passing game.

Who's going to the game today (Monday 3pm) at Adelaide Airport Stadium?
