Chelsea to Australia: Fábio not forget Mourinho and Drogba

The "good days" Special One, "awesome machine" called Didier, a transfer from Sporting to London and days in Adelaide. Interview Maisfutebol

A interesting read. Its in portugese so you'll need to translate it.

I think this photo just sums up how massive it was being at Chelsea.
IMO its just another example of how lucky we are with what we all have with AU. Something I certainly take for granted at times.

Could've easily grinded it out in the lower leagues until a bigger club came knocking. We're definitely lucky that he decided to come to Australia. Kudos to Kossie, one of the few good decisions he made in his last stint.

He kinda did, we found him in the NSW 2nd division.

According to his Wikipedia entry, he trialed in England's League 2 (4th tier) but didn't get picked up, and then played in the Portuguese 3rd division.

I meant grind it out in the lower leagues of England. I don't really consider a trial, to which lacked detail describing why it didn't eventuate, grinding it out in the lower leagues.

But from the sounds of it, Ferreira lost his passion for the game for a little while.

I'm very happy to have Ferreira at the club, and would love it if he continued playing here until his retirement, but I can't help but feel he wouldn't be here or in this league if he wasn't so injury prone..

I agree. Same goes for Carrusca.

Fabio did very well with the Chelsea Reserves side.

He moved to Dulwich Hill from Europe as he has family in Sydney (some are Australian born). He worked part-time in his uncle's bakery before a local coach decided to give John Kosmina a call...
