Re: Preview: CCM v AUFC
Im looking forward to hearing the magic words "short turn around" blurted out by fox sports pin heads at every opportunity to defend the mariners, just as they did for sfc.
Ironically the magic words were not spoken when we played the nix with quite the same gusto

I want to see goals. We need goals. The chances have been there but we haven't capitalised as much as we should have. If we want to be a top team, we have to punish teams when we get the chance. Given that they play mid week, the mariners will be on a plate for us to take.

I can't beleive how great the draw has been for AU this season.
Basically everything has gone their way!
First two FFA Cup rounds at home when the squad was a little down.
Syd away in FFA cup but got more rest then Syd did.
CCM must play mid week before playing AU.
FFA Cup final at home due to FFA being A-holes.

CCM will have even more reason to park the bus being tired. I'm expecting a 1-0 at best.

Bluetongue is traditionally a graveyard for us. We're a far better side than CCM at last so it's high time to capitalise on and prove that. Scoring the first two goals will be enough.
Phoenix won there and we're fresh from beating them, so surely we have reason to be confident.

CCM have apparently released Mane from his loan.
Hopefully that's an unsettling issue for them!

Really? I thought he was quite good just not used correctly.CCM have apparently released Mane from his loan.

Moss has a history of releasing foreigners early when they go bad.
The korean and vernes will probably be out the door soon also.
Is it bad luck for ccm ? Poor scouting ? Or just poor manager who cant get the most from his weapons ?

The Korean is pretty ordinary tbh.
I don't doubt that the players like Moss, and that he can get the boys motivated. But other than that I don't think he's a good manager. Maybe Im wrong, maybe its just because the Mariners are in a transitional period atm.

That's the thing though they really shouldn't be. Moss took over a decent squad playing well from Arnie. Surely all he had to do was keep that going and apply what he would have learnt from Arnie. The Korean is pretty ordinary tbh.

It seems pretty clear Moss has gone more defensive in his approach compared to Arnie IMO.
Although TBF to him losing Ibini and McGlinchey would be tough to replace.

Arnie got a LOT out of Zwaanswijk, so make of that what you will.

As much as they like to harp on about the "character" the mariners have, that underdog, overachieving, we can do anything attitude that was in that playing group, has gone. The player turnover was too much too quickly to successfully pass that mentality on to the next group of players. Its not the same mariners.
