After what has happened i think Val's time may be up.
The only paper in the state can't keep ignoring the state's only a-league team especially now that everything seems to be falling into place.

Time will tell if they kiss and make up but I don't think it will happen to soon.
I tend to agree. Val shouting from the rooftops that the sky is falling in at United might have sold newspapers and got website hits in the short term, but over the long term if the supporters / readers are unable to place trust in what the journalist writes, then they can't respect them as a legitimate source of news.

Meanwhile Richard Earle and Jai Bednall have been writing good, balanced pieces about football & United - being critical & raising issues where necessary - but they are multi-sports writers rather than specialising in football. Where's Roger Explosion where you need him??
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

So Kossie announced there were light years between his top 4 ( brisbane, WSW, Victory, Jets ) and that AUFC will be lucky to even get top 6

Since he opened his mouth,
- AUFC beat both WSW and Brisbane
-Victory have conceded 10 goals in 2 matches
-Jets now sit in 8th position and GVE sacked.
-Nix and AUFC are the form teams of league currently.

Expert analysis alright! top work kossie!

Haha he couldn't have been more wrong! I'm surprised he hasn't tipped the Socceroos to win the WC!

Always found these articles comical but I'm also much more comfortable now I know the board aren't going to react to them :)

I only hope the egos and small-minded attitudes of those that have stopped the game from progressing for as long as I can remember can see the wisdom in what’s happening and put their personalities aside and work for the common good.
Kossie actually wrote that in his article........ Go figure lmao

Ring, Ring.

VM: "Hi Cristiano? Its Val"
C: "Who?"
VM: "From The Advertiser in Adelaide"

Silence

VM: "Anyway, What do you think of Adelaide United's current game plan? Do you think they'd be more successful if they ditched all this passing shit and just hoofed it up to the centre forward?"

C: "Que?"

VM: "That's all I need"

Kossie's article actually gave us some credit. Better than I was expecting.

Yeah he was reasonable on Fox the other night too. His only real criticism was about the high defensive line earlier in the season.

Thought I'd just chime in with my opinion. As far as pundits go I don't mid Kossie although a bit too oldschool for my liking. However on foxsports I don't really have much respect for Andy Harper, he's entitles to his opinion but I find it rather ill informed when it comes to AUFC. As far as Val goes he seems to be passionate about the game, but not much of an expert and an average writer.

That article by kossie is a laugh. He can hardly believe that he has to write a positive article about the reds. Of course he offers backhand compliments, suggesting that the soccer gods have been on our side. This old saying comes to mind, "the more I practice, the luckier I get". I like to think that this applies to adelaide.

I think you make your own luck.

One thing I have noticed of late is, a few seasons ago, if I wanted up-to-date news on AU I would usually look to the Tiser for the goss. Val and co would usually report almost a day before someone at AU bothered to hop on their PC and report it.
While AU would generally just report dribble about the lads being fired up this weeks and a make or break clash :blah:
Now its the otherway around. AU are generally who I look to first for news and the Tiser is just reporting dribble.

Val posted a positive article today with quotes from Malik (first time he's had quotes from someone at the club for a while). Funny when you're doing well everyone is your mate. Simon Hill on the fox sports podcast has also begrudgingly admitted Gombau is a good coach.

Will be interesting to see if we have a loss if it converts back to full negativity again.

I think it has got to the point where if he was anymore negative towards the club his true colours would be out for all to see.
I still find it strange that someone like Hill would be bagging him still. I had a lot of respect for him. Although I don't have fox so I don't see a massive amount of him.
