On 21 November 2012 he signed a two year contract extension keeping him at the club until the end of 2014-15 A-League season
Re: Cassio
Cassio's comments are unequivocal. He wants out. He is positioning himself so his contract is untenable and they agree to mutual termination. Our owners have wrecked our club.

Let's hope it's a beat up but if the comments are correctly quoted then I'm worried. Would rip whatever heart is left out of the club - and my eight-year-old son!
Cassio - stay!!!

The World Game rarely gets sucked into beat ups ad players rarely say things like this unless they want to leave.

Re: Cassio
I get the feeling cassio wants to stay in adelaide ( as he said ) but is possibly being pushed out or has been told he will not be in the first team.
Possibly he is awaiting our new coach to be appointed.

Re: Cassio
Based on form, he has really fallen off the pace. But is this because of all the BS that has been going on behind the scenes or due to age???
In any case, Cassio has earned my respect as a true AU legend, but at 33 maybe he does not have 2 more good years in him but I would be happy to have him as a squaddie or impact player.
Nothing surprises me at AU anymore.....

Re: Cassio
Personally I feel he hasn't yet fallen off pace but he isn't far away. IMO if I was the club I probably would have only offered him a one year deal.Based on form, he has really fallen off the pace. But is this because of all the BS that has been going on behind the scenes or due to age???

But personally I would really want someone of Cassio's passion to stick round the club afterwards. I think the more we have guys like him walking to hallways the less BS politics we are going to hear about.

Re: Cassio
TWG has been terrible for years now, they trolled the sh*t out of the WSW fans by writing a piece about how their club was going to be called Western Pride...don't believe half of what you read on that abortion of a website, been trading on the good name SBS once had during the NSL days. Since 2005, They've not bothered getting their A-League shit together and Fox/442 have usurped them. Until I see Cassio in another club's shirt I won't believe it. He is under contract until 2014-15. Don't forget TWGs exclusive about Lucash Neil's revoltagainst Pim in Durban, all to help Uncle Les flog a few booksThe World Game rarely gets sucked into beat ups ad players rarely say things like this unless they want to leave.

Hate to say it but where this was published makes no difference. They are direct quotes.

Re: Cassio
I understand the level of discontent there is against the owners but for a "reds legend" who "bleeds united" these comments are a major dick move.
Wasn't a fan of Eugene coming out in the media either but I could forgive it as he is the captain of the club and the players frustration just boiled over.
Given that after those comments, Cassio was prepared to front the media with Eugene to smooth things over. Regardless of whether he wanted to or not, it's time to keep your trap shut. If he doesn't like the coach the club appoints, he can go and I won't begrudge him for it.

Re: Cassio
I'd love to see the owners just let Cassio walk to a rival HAL club for free. No chance IMO.
I think he will probably wait to see who the new coach is and how that pans out.
I hope that he is just calling a bluff to get management to listen to the players a bit more.
On a side note. Sydney they have to have the slackest recruitment department in the league. They have arguably the best NPL comp in the country to pick from and they spend all their time trying to nick players from other HAL clubs. No wonder they haven't got any fans!
