Possible replacement for Diawara
Richard Sukuta-Pasu
Played at Kasierlautern under Kurz in the Budesliga, coming off contract. Big guy, but also has played a bit on the RW so must be reasonably mobile. Not a hugely prolific scorer but the A-league is a step down in quality from Bundesliga 2.

Quietly releived if baba leaves.

Quality striker but i dont think the aleague is a good fit for him, plus fitness is a real concern.

If we can find a hard worker like cavusavic ill be very happy.

Ante Kovacevic says we have 20 players signed for next season and that includes 3 visa players.

Ochieng, O'Doherty and Gulum all confirmed as leaving, as expected.

More additions to the squad to be announced soon.

Baba seems to be included in the squad still so may not be leaving.

I think the club can sign up to 6 players, but would need to sign a mature age rookie and two designated players to get it to 6 players.

I assume with Isa becoming naturalised that will drop to 2.

Brook seems to have gone to another level from last year with NPL team from the stats. Anyone seen him play and is he ready to step up to A-league level with some significant time this season?

Good question. In the past the kids coming off the back of a decent NPL stint haven't done a bad job in the A-League, though struggle with consistency.

I see from the recent update that Brook, Richards, Stamatelopolous, Niyongabire & Konstandopolous (the younger) are all named in the squad. https://www.adelaideunited.com.au/news/ ... d-update-0

That is great news and I fully expect a couple of these to have a break-out season. If it turns out our striking woes were solved by either Stamatelopolous or Pacifique then I'd be a very happy chappy.

Seeing some of the local kids step-up is one of the things I truly enjoy about watching AUFC.

They have already signed Kamau and Fitzgerald. Not sure where he would fit.

We need defenders not wingers.

There is no LB in the squad if Goodwin is going to play LW, we need two.
Only 3 centre backs, need a 4th.
Then we need a quality number 10.
As far as I can tell to even get these 4 players one of them needs to be a mature age rookie or designated player.

With roughly 4 months until the season starts i dont think we desperately need anything apart from a 10.

We are also reportedly talking to bai antoniou a syd fc youth product who is a striker.

I have a feeling a couple of contracted players may leave the club during the silly season, Diawara is seems to be leaving, Adlung already left and i think one of Kitto or Mileusenic will be encouraged to seek a club elsewhere.

Its been reported if diawara leaves we will have around 1.5 million to spend on capped players.

Plenty of room for quality in all areas of the park and most likely alot of movement within the squad

agree a specialist LB would be good, though Strain has shown enough last season to believe he could be a starting RB and Marrone should be experienced enough to play LB fairly decently if we can't find a reasonably priced LB.
