So he appears to be fairly attacking. Is he Carrusca's replacement essentially?

He has played most of his career as a more holding midfielder but he can play as a number 10 or on the wing. Matmour could play RW with Adlung being number 10, or Matmour number 10 with Adlung playing as a more defensive player. It will be interesting to see which is selected by Kurz

And attacking highlights make a great video but especially a short video like this one does not have to be representative of his career as a whole.

2 year deal which is good to see.

Article says he's a holding or defensive mid who can also play on the wings.

I guess that means Matmour is our #10 or creative outlet. Which tbh I'm not thrilled about. He looks much more like a winger.

NO, NO, NO. The articles says he is a holding or OFFENSIVE midfielder who can play on the wings.

I do however agree with you about Matmour but it still might work.

From the highlights it looked like he was more a number 10...

Anyway I'm happy with the signing. Really happy with our imports tbh and when Gulum finally gets fit our team will be strong.

Here is what I wrote about Adlung and his ability as a number 10 a couple of pages back
Tapalovic was assistant at 1860 Munich for the 2014/15 season where Adlung had an excellent season with 6 goals and 12 assists from 34 games. More interestingly Adlung played 19 games as the attacking midfielder with 3 goals and 10 assists. That is pretty impressive.
According to transfermrkt, not 100% accurate but gives some idea of his experience.
Left midfield 80 games
Left Winger 16 games
Right midfield 41 games
Right wing 11 games
Central midfield 53 games
Attacking midfield 39 games
Secondary Striker 3 games

A lot of the games listed as left or right midfield are positions I would have called wingers. Some however were in 4-4-2 diamond formations that I would consider to be left and right central midfielders.

I think it is a big advantage that Adlung, even though he has come in a bit late, has played with Matmour before. If they end up playing in the midfielder trio together this understanding of each others games will help a lot.

Wow can't believe I misread that Ghost! Good to see he is an offensive mid.

Pretty strong lineup now.

I reckon if fully fit we would lineup like this:

Izzo
Marrone-Gulum-Regan-Garuccio
Adlung-Isa-Matmour
Mileusnic-Baba-Johan

Bench:
Margush
Blackwood
Lia
Elsey
Ochieng
Kitto
Konstand

if elrich can recover and hit some form at lb i think we are rock solid at the back. possibly our strongest defensive line up ever? gulum and isaias really are an amazing foundation to build a defense around.

Really excited to see Blackwood fight it out with Baba

Surely Elrich will not be back until next year and for most of the season it will be up to Garuccio, Kitto or Ochieng to play at LB. He could be a late season bonus but if one of those three are playing well he might find it hard to get back into the start XI.

He did his ACL in April and rehab is 10-12 months.

Might be available in the very latter rounds / finals but I wouldn't count on it.
