Disappointing Dario's not joining AU. But I never really expected him to.

A finals charge is going to be dependant on our Visa guys having a big impact and a good run with injury.

And our inevitable hit-or-miss approach to the January transfer window.

We don't sign players in January. We sign them the 3rd week of February. ;)

Making the finals should not be that difficult, we have an excellent striker which is a good part of the battle. If we sign Elsey we can have a good defensive group, Marrone - Elsey - Gulum - Garuccio should be good enough. Isaias is an excellent DM, but I think we need a bit more quality in the middle. I think O'Doherty can be good for us, Lia brings experience, Konstandopoulos is a bit of a unknown to me and Brook is very young. A quality AM would fit in well. I feel we are reasonably good on the wings but the club wants another foreign player and why not if we can. Miluesnic can be more than okay on the RW and hopefully Kitto can show a bit more this season, he seemed to be a bit better at LW rather than RW. Ocheing is another option as well and it will be very handy to have a player with his versatility on the bench.

I was disappointed Dario didn't sign but then I read he can't join Welly for three weeks because of an injury. How did he get injured as a free agent??

I think unfortunately Vido is just one of those players where injuring just constantly plagues him.

Great player but just can't maintain it.

I think we can do better.

A long time ago an AFL player was lying on his sofa and his friend sat on his leg and broke it putting him out for a couple of months.

So players can get injured when not playing. Probably Vidosic did it while doing his own training to keep fit.

Says in the article OG linked (written by Dario) that he had knee surgery only a couple of weeks ago from a problem he had while he was in Korea.

I recall Ognenovski picking up some injuries when he moved from AU to Korea. The pitches over there are sand based I think which takes time to adjust to.

Elsey has re-signed.

1 year deal.

Sounds like Mullen might be surplus now.

Good signing. Seems to be well considered which I like for this type of player.

Great re-signing.

He is a CB and not a FB in my view.

Sad to read Carrusca is having trouble securing another HAL deal. Wants to live in Australia permanently with his family.

Wouldn't mind if we picked him up as a squaddie.
