Players also get released from contracts all the time but does that have to happen in the window? I.e. next week after the Spanish window has closed could a contracted player get released and signed by us? Or does their window have to be open to get released?

Yes a contracted player has to be released before the window closes to be eligible for a free transfer. I'm not sure if that is the origin or destination transfer window though.

It is official that Henrique has flown out to Thailand, Engene's comments in the article confirm it.

Regardless of when the window closes, we need reinforcements now.

If we are looking for an Asian player we may have a little leeway as many of the leagues are currently off season.

Even still, we have lost Guardiola, Holland and now Henrique without replacement and have Kitto and Mileusnic in doubt through injury and Carrusca either injured or coming off injury - all this with a forecast of 39 degrees following the same last Sunday.

So we need three replacements ASAP with rumours varying from Spain to Asia. Even if they all appeared magically it may take a little time for them to settle in. Here's to hoping at least one of them can hit the ground running.

So not Babacar Gueye but Papa Babacar Diawara known as Baba. Looks to have a decent background. Good scoring record in Portugal but struggled to score in Spain LaLiga. Still a better background than Sergi Guardiola and could be a very good signing.

Ah he looks even better!
Any player that can manage 71 La Liga appearances has got my interest!

He is a good quality, tall striker who can hold the ball up but I am a bit concerned from looking at youtube videos of him that one of his main strengths is heading crosses in the net. We cannot cross for love or money and our corners are usually crap so he might be a bit wasted in our team.
