Good.

Love the tag line in the e-mail to members on this....

"Delianov's contract extension reflects Adelaide United's commitment to nurturing talent and building a competitive team capable of achieving success in the A-League and beyond."

A genuine message of hope to the faithful or just PR bullshit to appease the discontented masses ?
The message remains the same, youth and development.
I like to think we have a glass half full situation and it will only get better.
And not having the fear of relegation hanging over the club also helps.

Definitely the latter.

One rare bit of good news this season. Looking forward to seeing James develop into one of the league’s best keepers in the next 12-18 months.

Gee u all getting excited about a keeper signing , we could have 4 keepers play at once and our defence would still concede, we need out field players with experience

You can both be happy at a re-signing and also want new players to come in.

Bovalina off to the White Caps.

Quite a loss for us, however good luck to the lad and a well deserved reward.

A new RB signing just went a few notches up the priority list. Panashe can cover for Harry, however he's always struck me as more of an attacking winger than wing-back/RB.

Toure also off to Ligue 1 according to the news this week.
Good to see AU is now like a clearance store where everything is for sale. Looks like a full rebuild is coming with a few older blokes surely to retire.

Perhaps PSV are loaning us 10 players as I have no expectations on the clubs ability to sign anyone decent and I’m sure will be filling most with the next fresh batch of 17 yo’s ready to be sold in 12 months time. Great for the owners, not much in it for any supporters or kids with favourite players who are constantly leaving. My kids have lost a lot of interest after their favourites in Gauci, Popa and soon Nestor left/ leave.

I guess we do have another season of Tunnicliffe to look forward to at least.

How many young South Aussies have we launched into international playing careers this season (and the last few seasons). Sensational!

We give young players an opportunity and the ones who are good enough get their chances. What young player wouldn’t want to play for AUFC.

I've mixed feeling about this one. He's certainly talented, however has yet to step-up for AUFC and was just starting to find time on the pitch. Hopefully he gets the development he needs in France, however the risk of "leaving too early" is certainly there.

Not a huge issue for us, we're solid at the pointy-end.

Still, as Otto mentioned, you want an overseas career then South Australia is the place to be.

So what's the answer Claw ? Only recruit young players that are just about good enough for the A league but show no potential to rise any higher ?
We are a selling club playing in a selling league. It's an economic fact of life. You might as well get used to it.
Plenty of heroes still left at the club for your kids to idolize, plus new ones to come I'm sure.

Exciting move for Bova and it looks like he’ll be a depth option for the first team there. We will however need a RB and the player I would go after is Johnny Koutroumbis.

As for Musa, he has huge wraps on him but he’s leaving far too early for mine. Maybe we wants to be closer to his brothers.

I would have loved to see Bovalina marauding down the sidelines for another season or two but good luck to the lad.
I reckon he has the energy, speed and skill set he needs to be very successful.

I was hoping for a season of stability following this season but it ain't to be by the look of it.

The solution for me is to take a break from a-league in general for a while. For a passionate fan like me, it’s pretty sad but I have had little enjoyment from my club this season.
I have no solution to the never ending false dawns in Australian football and none for AU.
No issue with selling a few each year, that’s football, but last few seasons have sucked in all honesty., especially knowing they will likely sign garbage to replace the outgoings. As for remaining heroes, pretty slim pickings imo!

Javi Lopez rides again!
