It will be interesting next season where our visa players are positioned on the pitch.

Al hassan Toure is proven at this level now with Yengi still finding his feet, I would probably be happy to let Toure develop and not sign a visa striker, but then the same goes for our wingers. In the midfield you could get a quality DM but again investing in D'arrigo will pay dividends

Its a really interesting situation because our key positions are filled by aussies and there is youth who deserve those spots. Perhaps our visa players will be versatile squaddies who can play multiple position to cover injuries.
I think defence personally, and I presume we will need another centre mid to replace McGree or even two if Troisi leaves. I would go one of the below options depending on how many leave

Izzo
Foreigner-Foreigner-Elsey-Maria
D'Arrigo
Troisi-McGree
Halloran-Toure-Foreigner

Izzo
Foreigner-Foreigner-Elsey-Maria
D'Arrigo-Foreigner
Troisi
Halloran-Toure-Mileusnic

Izzo
Strain-Foreigner-Elsey-Maria
D'Ariggo-Foreigner
Foreigner
Halloran-Toure-Foreigner

Also worth mentioning both Elvis Kambsoba, Valentino Yuel and Bruce Kamau are out of contract, wouldn't be surprised if one of those guys are signed up

Halloran is definitely a key signing for us so great news.

There's a lot of things to like about the squad but we're lacking in areas. Better foreign players would be a good start.

I miss Stuckey's convenient list to see when all the players are coming off contract.
Here you go:

Expiring 2020
4. Ryan STRAIN
11. Kristian OPSETH
14. George BLACKWOOD
16. Nathan KONSTANDOPOULOS
22. Michael JAKOBSEN
24. Pacifique NIYONGABIRE
28. Yongbin CHEN
31. Mirko BOLAND

Expiring 2021
2. Michael MARRONE
5. Michael MARIA
10. James TROISI
17. Nikola MILEUSNIC
18. Lachlan BROOK
23. Jordan ELSEY
30. Isaac RICHARDS

Expiring 2022
6. Stefan MAUK
7. Ryan KITTO
8. Riley MCGREE
20. Paul IZZO
26. Ben HALLORAN

Expiring 2023
27. Louis D'ARRIGO
35. Al Hassan TOURE
49. Mohamed TOURE

No information about Kusini Yengi's contract length online but I think it would be 2021 or 2022. I reckon Strain and Konstandopoulos will get new deals. Think Blackwood is playing for a contract at the minute. Opseth, Chen and Boland will certainly be let go. Personally I would get rid of Jakobsen but he could stay and that leaves Niyongabire who it is a toss up for really.
Legend! So yeah Konstandopolous confirmed today. Assume Strain will be soon.

I agree a few more experienced heads in defence would help the team. Probably better bang for buck too

Sorry mates! I found it very annoying that the club would either not mention players sign, or make no mention of how long they signed for. I had hoped to have a source under each player's name so people could see for sure those dates are correct.
Thanks Milan for the update!

That aside it is really great to see the club placing so many more players under (in HAL terms) long term contracts than before. At times during the Griffin era almost none of the roster had more the 18 months on their contracts.

Boland signs a 2 year deal with a lower div German club. So he's gone season end.

Edit- it's vfb Lubeck in the 4th tier, regionaliga nord.

What happened to that documentary and film crew that was meant to be following Chen Yongbin around whilst he's here? Also looking forward to seeing how much we can sell him on for! What an amazing investment by the club! /sarcasm

Chen Yongbin has been one heck of a self isolater. Is the guy playing at all?

He's played a combined 35 minutes in NPL.

That hasn't been his only contribution, he apparently is fantastic out wide.... very, very wide.... like off pitch wide.... as a linesman...

Heart of Midlothian left back Garuccio, 24, is contemplating a return to Australia, says his former teammate, Adelaide United’s Stefan Mauk

I hope he doesn't, needs to stick it out over there. Not being able to play whilst injured is bad, Scotland even worse but he should try and see it through, he's still only 24.

If he does come back, it better be to us. Would solve a lot of problems at LB.

He's remained remarkably injury free, you have to give him that.

The COVID-19 outbreak is going to see many footballers about the globe return to their home countries as they wish to be closer to family.

Hearts have been relegated so hopefully Garuccio returns home.

Also from an A-League perspective, hopefully Bobby Burns will stay at the Jets.

Came to post the same thing about Garuccio.

Talk of McGree being shopped around for $5mil.
