He sounds like a smart guy. Good English. Could this actually be the striker we've been hoping for?
Bruce is the goods!! I'm not sure we've ever had anyone in the club as professional at communication as he is.
Bruce is a terrific listen. It’s nice to have someone eloquent and polished front and centre as the face of the club.

Did laugh in the presser when Bruce spent the first few mins explaining the process of recruitment and Val pops up with his first question asking him to explain the process of recruitment

The early parts of this preseason have given me a new appreciation for the work of Rob Greenwood.

Super!
You're right Shin, professional is the word and we seem to be heading there.
It's shaping up into a very interesting and "intense" season.

From the pessimism at the end of last season it feels like we've gone full circle.

Bruce is exceeding my expectations already, well spoken and knowledgeable. Passionate coach who helped handpick these players and a promise of attacking football.

This Norwegian fellow sure does love a left footed blast, doesn't look like he scores too many boring ones.

So is it 1 more import or 2 ?? Plus I can't help but feel we are going to nab one more quality Aussie player.

1 more Visa spot remaining.

CB and a mid to come I think.

It will be interesting if we sign a mid or a winger.

Both areas are a little light yet we also have exciting youth in those areas.

I think our attacks on the left might come from maria overlapping so that mitigates the need for an all out attacking LW, potentially a perfect role for kitto who can tuck in and play a little more central.

So IMO depending on how verbeek wants to play, we may be looking for a deep lying playmaker/ defensive mid ( isaias style ) or a traditional creative 10 like a flores or carusca

I think with Halloran, Mile and Kitto we have some decent starting wingers.

We have a depth of juniors coming through in that position who look to have potential too (Armiento, Niyongabire etc.)

I think midfield will need to be strengthened but agree either wing or mid is where we go for the last visa spot.

Still need some depth at CB too but this should be an Aussie. Although I reckon Marrone might be considered a very capable step-in for that role going forward! Absolutely rock solid from there after it took him a few games to settle last season.

Bruce heading these pressers is amazing. It's so easy these days to throw around a label like "Aussie Messi" and stuff like that where it puts a stupid pressure on players, so loved it when Bruce turns around and says "Kristian is Kristian Opseth. He's his own player." in response to one of the reporters asking who he reminds him of.

Agree on Bruce. He's such a good communicator. Not sure if he's even doing much different to previous football directors but the fact he's out there getting the messaging right instills confidence.

Given that communication, as opposed to decisions or direction, has been one of our biggest issues, Bruce is proving a step in the right direction.

Wonder where it all leaves Troisi.

Either us or some Asian country IMO.

We do need a CB but in Marrone, Elsey and Jako we would be better off developing some youth in that area. Classy import mid I reckon.

Im enjoying all the bruce positivity and agree he is a fantastic face of the clubs operations.

I think its a little naive to think bruce got all these signings over the line any more than ante and petrillo would have.

The reality is this professionalism ( and money ) has come from the very top and is has allowed verbeek and bruce to simply get their job done without restrictions.

Its well known petrillo operated well outside the scope of his role at aufc and often managed to pull a rabbit out of the hat, ante clearly had some extreme restrictions plan upon him during his reign.

Would be a hit to the ego. Wonder where he goes next.

Where does everyone sit with Troisi? Would you want to see him in red?
I really don't think he would be good for the culture around the club.
