Re: Who's signed for next season
I actually don't mind having Blackwood back. True, he's not the most inspired signing, but he was showing improvement towards the end of his last stint. Hopefully with some time away he'll bring back some hunger to impress.
I think Ansell is a bit of a sideways signing though - unless he's cheaper than Elsey, then sure, why not.
There are more players to come, so I'll keep looking forward optimistically... Until it all comes crashing down during the season again.

Thanks for everything Micky! One of the most consistent and reliable players to ever represent the club.
From a squad building point of view, we are definitely going to need more than just four players for next season.

Re: Who's signed for next season
A club legend indeed, thank Mr Marrone for your service and best of luck for the future.
I simply cant wait to see who the club has lined up to replace- Strain, Marrone, LB, Abetew and Smith just a few holes in defence Any more youth players we can sign/ should sign?
If our first two signings are any indicator, be prepared to be underwhelmed.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Looking at our squad now we have just 17 players on senior contracts, one player out of contract (Konstand) and 6 scholarship players.
This is what I feel our squad should look like and going by this we’re gonna need another 4-5 players. I think making finals with the squad will be a long shot but hopefully the kids kick on and we don’t get blown away too many times.
Delianov
Lopez Ansell Jakobsen new
Juande
Mauk Cavallo
Halloran Yengi Goodwin
Gauci
New New Timotheou Kitto
Caletti
Konstand* D’Arrigo
New Blackwood A Toure
Scholarships: Cox, Popovic, Yull, Bernardo, M Toure, Dukuly

Thank you and good luck for the future Michael Marrone!
Consistent and hard working, one of our best players.

AUFC announcement tomorrow apparently. Not sure if it's related to a signing.

I'm glad to see him return, I truly am.... we just badly need other positions filled so it's hard to be as excited as I'd like to be for this news

Re: Who's signed for next season
Love to have Senor home but doesn't fix any of our issues.
How do we line up?
-------------Gauci
Lopez Ansell Timotheau NEW
-------- Isiais D'Arrigo
------------ Mauk
Halloran -------------- Goodwin
------------ Yengi
But remember Josep using Isiais at CB moving to DM at times, not sure if that's up Carl's street.
Could shift to a 4-4-2
-------------Gauci
Lopez Isiais Ansell Cavallo
Halloran Mauk D'Arrigo Goodwin
-------- Toure Yengi
Either way, the signing of Juande is looking silly.

My sentiments exactly.I'm glad to see him return, I truly am.... we just badly need other positions filled so it's hard to be as excited as I'd like to be for this news
We now have 4 defensive midfielders (including Isa) plus Mauk and Cavallo contracted. Konstand is out of contract.
If common sense were to prevail (I have my doubts given some of our recent recruitment), the obvious thing to do would be to terminate Caletti’s contact and re-sign Konstand.
We probably don’t have the funds to sign an attacking mid so Mauk will have to play there again unless we offload Juande as well.

The club is clearly limiting spending. You want them to spend money to lose players. If common sense were to prevail (I have my doubts given some of our recent recruitment), the obvious thing to do would be to terminate Caletti’s contact and re-sign Konstand.
He's not exactly dominated in his time here with the limited chances he's had. But IMO during his time with Brissy he showed he was up to the level. I'm excited to see what he can offer this season.
Time to Djbate!

Anyone think Issy could play as a 10?
Obviously you'd miss out on the long range passing with him being further up the pitch. But he has the technique, can pick a pass and has the ability to ping one in from distance.
