Where does everyone sit with Troisi? Would you want to see him in red?
I really don't think he would be good for the culture around the club.
I would prefer berisha, i think that says it all

If we did sign him i can see the adelaide faithful turn on him if his performances or attitude are not up to par

I'd prefer Berisha too..

Having said that, if we signed Troisi I'd get behind him so long as he played with heart. There's redemption for him yet

If he plays here it'll be on the club's terms. We won't chase him, he'll have to play here because he actually WANTS to.

Agree,

I'd be livid if he comes here. I hate him more than any other footballer anywhere in the world.

Jamie Percevski is reportedly going to sign for WSW.

We were linked with him a few months ago.

Some Victory fans seem to think we'll sign him.

troisi is a risk i think. He has talent bit he has an ego bigger than his talent. It can destroy a football club from within. If he came here under the cap and did the hard yards he would be loved....he is a south aussie afterall.

I think someone else also mentioned it before, but when Bruce told a player that he wasn't worth that kind of money, it instantly reminded me that it was probably Troisi he was aiming it at lol

The thought did cross my mind.

Do we need him though? With McGree we have a talented central AM with ample squad back-up. We seem to be looking more for a deep-lying playmaker which isn't Troisi's forte, not to say he couldn't play the role if he put his mind to it.

As a South Australian I'd be ok with him coming back but as others noted it would have to be at a reasonable price and not with expectations from him of automatically starting each match.

I'm almost certain it would be. Bruce and he and very good mates and I would imagine that would lead to blunt discussions.

My biggest concerns are midfield and up front.

Even though we only have 2 outright CBs, Marrone more than proved his worth in that position last season. 3 CBs are a luxury in the HAL.

For midfield, I don't think Boland cuts the mustard. I think he struggled last season, however Isa covered up his shortcomings.

I also think Opseth is a big risk - reportedly a lazy player and having to play in Australian conditions has me worried.

Reinforce midfield then get another forward is my preference.

My fear with Opseth is the same with all northern Europeans, adjusting to the conditions. Does take them time to adjust, though having spent some time in Turkey should stand him in better stead.

Don't share the same opinion of Boland, he works bloody hard and does the right things. I'd play McGree deeper and sign another AM.

We have so many wider options, I mean Nikola and Strain were on the pine !!! Midfield and striker for the last 2 signings IMO, spent the coin on attackers because that's how we want to play.

OK here's all our imports and my completely subjective view over whether they adapted physically or not:

Adapted:
Jakobsen (Danish), Absalonsen (Danish), Adlung (German), Boland (German), Ferreira (Portugal), Cirio (Spanish), Isaias (Spanish), P. Sanchez (Spanish), Van Dijk (Dutch/Indonesian), Carrusca (Argentine), Flores (Argentine), Neumann (Argentine), Cristiano (Brazilian), Walsh (Brazilian), Rech (Brazilian), Cássio (Brazilian), Salley (Ivorian), Shin (Korean), Usúcar (Uruguayan)

Didn't adapt:
Petta (Dutch), Slory (Dutch/Suriname). Thomassen (Dutch), Guardiola (Spanish), Palanca (Spanish), Levchenko (Ukrainian), Matmour (Algerian), Romário (Brazilian), Diawara (Senegalese), Kim (Korean)

Jury's out:
Čavušević (Slovene), Alemão (Brazilian), Bodrušić (Croatian), Ilsø (Danish), Keenan (English), Owusu (Ghanaian/English).

Generally Northern Europeans have been fine except for the Dutch!

I think Cavusevic adapted well in the end. Just unfortunate that we only saw the start.

Diawara adapted too, he just couldn't stay fit.
