The average age of the side is about 12 so some experience is necessary.

My initial reaction on hearing we might be signing was that I did not want him.Thinking about it some more I think it is a solid signing as a squad player who might start from time to time or might be brought on when we have a lead and want a more defensive player in midfield. We don't really know what formation Kurz is planning to mainly use but last game was 4-3-3 in the first half and 4-2-3-1 in the second. Lia could be a bench player who could be used to swap from 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1 if needed.

Not a super exciting signing but a necessary one, adds depth for us in DM.

One thing i am getting more and more excited about is Kurz. Its going to be interesting to see the results of his ideas about training, discipline and effort, as well as his tactics im sure.

I like that they had to specify that it was a 'Marco Kurz signing', presumably to stop people going off about club management and using Lia as evidence to have a go at the tight purse-strings.

Lia is a good option in an emergency and gives us experience and steel (thuggery) off the bench and in case of injury but.... just like our last two pre season windows we end up having too many fillers and not enough quality. I wasn't against Duganzic when he signed... and then he ended up having to start a pile of games for us.

I really hope we can get in a solid pre reason with our key players firing and ready and not last minute everything or plug gaps poorly.

I think Lia and Dugandzic are on completely different planes - Lia is a proven HAL player - Dugandzic was not (but promised to be).

Lia is a known quantity and we know what we are going to get. He's not a big name but he will be an important cog in midfield and will probably start a lot of games. I actually think he could prove to be a great partner to Isa.

We still need a good 4 or 5 players but we could do worse than him.
