Val has said that Isaias is indeed captain of the club.

And with Adelaide’s new coach Marco Kurz quick to see that Isaias is a natural-born leader just days into preseason in June, the Spaniard is relishing the responsibility.

The German handed him the captain’s armband throughout pre-season but the club hasn’t made an official announcement after ex-gloveman Eugene Galekovic was captain since 2011/12.

That's true. Although the opposite is true as well. No point signing a visa or HAL club hopper if a local player can offer a similar performance with the added bonus of being local which means fans are more likely to connect with them.

Anyway, the point of the Cantera (as shown by Bilbao) is that we can build a spirit that journeyman can’t give us. It allows the sum of our parts to be greater than they otherwise would and for a small town team, that is critical.

We need to be bringing back Koutroumbis, Inman, Tongyik, Mauk etc. Konstandopoulos and Izzo were good signing where are the others?
