Re: Who's signed for next season
It had nothing to do with belief.Of course a career minded player would choose Sydney FC over Adelaide - there's the opportunity to win something! The same could be said of MV (although they're having a shocking season they have deep pockets to draw good marquees so are more likely to be competing for trophies) and Melb City (world wide connections, deep pockets, good marquees) and WSW (deep pockets if they can get their crowds back up, good play if they stick with Gumby).
Also, when Kamau went to City he was backing himself to be good enough to nail down a starting spot. He hasn't managed it, but to say he shouldn't have gone seems to suggest he shouldn't have had so much belief in himself. Hindsight is 20/20 vision.
When he signed he was injured at AUFC and was not making much of an impact when he did play. I believe adelaide was offering him a low wage extension and city offered him 2 years.
At that stage it was a smart move for a player yet to break out who was struggling with injuries.
Any aspiring striker, winger or attacking mid with a season or 2 under their belt can do much better than play for a club that may have its whole front 4 players as high paid visa players and marquees.
Many players produced by ccm and adelaide were initially passed up by the “bigger clubs” these guy sought game time over being a squaddie and are now playing overseas.
Ofcourse there are always exceptions, Arzani is a clear different category, he is in the prodigy realm that a viduka or kewell may have been in early in their career.

Bratten is still there but you're right about Caceres.Caceres and bratten, although neither could be considered successful imoApart from Aaron Mooy, has any MCY player made a big transfer move away from the club?
I just think there is seemingly a lot of young Aussies going there in hopes of furthering their careers but they don't seem to go anywhere but sideways.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Speaking of furthering careers. Has O'Doherty re-signed yet? The kid has made the HAL team of the week the last 2 weeks. Or is AU going to let the hottest young talent leave the club for next to nothing two years in a row?

Re: Who's signed for next season
Apparently perth are pretty keen to sign him stuckey.
I feel like we could keep him as our 10 going forward and hope he continues to develop, spend the extra money of a true marquee striker or wide player

Re: Who's signed for next season
I think O'Dog has a role and should be contracted accordingly.
Back him in as our no10 for the rest of this year and next.
He is also a great backup winger should anything happen to Mileusnic or Kitto.
2 year deal, 280k across both seasons with a minimum buyout of $600k.

Match any other clubs offer. He wont cost anywhere near what a visa 10 will cost.I'm confused what you're saying here? Are you saying throw big money at him to stay?Apparently perth are pretty keen to sign him stuckey.

Use the left over money on a proven goal scorer

Club website was wrong. He has number 77.Dzengis has taken the number 4 which must hint at Baba staying.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Carrusca put through a killer ball to assist Ikonomidis' (disallowed by VAR) goal and won both penalties for WSW in their 2-2 draw with the Jets tonight.
I thought Ikonomidis' goal should have stood, seemed in line to me but the 2nd pen was bullshit.

Absolute bullshit if we lose O'Doherty to fucking Perth. I'm sick to death of strengthening all of our rivals by practically handing them our most promising stars.

Kossie mentioned there is interest in elsey from europe, rightly so.
Warland surely jumped the gun? Has he seen game time yet at sydney?

Re: Who's signed for next season
If it was for game time then I don't really understand why he moved, was always going to be third choice for ACL and 4th for A-league. Pretty much the same as he is here. Couldn't be money unless Sydney are cheating...Warland surely jumped the gun? Has he seen game time yet at sydney?
Only plausible explanation I can think of is that he didn't get along well with the coach or someone else in the staff.
