I wonder what the buy out clause is

ill be honest i doubt he will play a full season with us next year. Fairly surprised he hasnt been picked up by an overseas club already.

Loving the clubs intent and ambition already though!

Well that's it, I don't mind if players move on to bigger & better things some day, so long as our club gets something out of it (and they don't just end up playing for Melbourne City .. lol)
This sort of thing is ideal. He's on a long contract - if he plays another year or two and leaves with the club's blessing and a transfer fee that's OK, if he chooses to continue his career here, as a long-term club man, that's even better!

I think this long term deal for Elsey probably has some leadership role associated with it. He emphasises it a lot that it was a dream come true to lead the club.

He wore the armband round 27 when Isiais was rested. He's had a fantastic season, just think that we were trialling him against Daniel Mullen for one spot in the squad this preseason!

Massive blow already with Absalonsen gone, and Adlung too would be a huge dent.

In a way Adlung wanting to leave wouldn't be a huge surprise as he was the most reluctant preseason signing to come to AUFC. But, still; why sign a two year deal?

His wife didn't want to come when we first made an offer, so maybe she won out.

I hate having to build a new squad every year

I'm getting sick of us signing whipped players: Matmour, Absalonsen and now potentially Adlung are all not sticking around because their wives don't want them to.

Thats a shame i really liked adlung, his style really suited australian football.

Its not the end of the world to lose absalonsen abd adlung. Maybe in previous years you just know we will replace them with with journeymen.

Things are already very different with elsey and Lia being snapped up early.

Im really expecting 3 quality visas to replace matmour adlung and absalonsen next season

The hard thing about it is that only about 50% of visa players are worth signing. We are losing 2 known quantities and will be looking at signing potentially 4 new visa players, who knows how they'll turn out.
