Re: Who's signed for next season
I thought that the plan was that Goodwin would be reinvented as our (new) CAM, given that we have plenty of good, fast wingers and wing backs already? Surely we need him to fill an existing hole, not add to the riches that we already have out wide?

I haven't heard that. I think Goody as a #10 would be very unlikely. I could imagine Halloran moving more central.I thought that the plan was that Goodwin would be reinvented as our (new) CAM, given that we have plenty of good, fast wingers and wing backs already? Halloran moving centrally has worked in the past .... but who fills the hole behind him? That is the major deficiency which is killing us every week.I haven't heard that. Re: Who's signed for next season
I think with the players we have, a diamond 442 with Halloran and Goody at RM and LM respectively is our best bet.
D'Arrigo at DM and Mauk at AM.
Then you have Juric and Toure ahead of them.
Not my preferred formation, I much prefer the balance of a 433, I just think 442 gets the most out of our squad right now.

Just imagine if that snake Troisi didn't stab us in the back.

According to Val, we are talking to Daniel Adlung.
Not sure why we'd want him given he's now playing in the German fourth tier.

If he's the same player he was a couple of years ago, and he's injury-free, I'd take him. Step up from our current midfield.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Re: Who's signed for next season
I would take Daniel Adlung any day of the week. He only left us because his girlfriend was homesick for Germany - plus they had their baby here and I presume that they both wanted the support of their families, which is entirely understandable.
If he (and his family) wants to come back, though, let's welcome him and them with open arms.

I'm not so sure, Ed; 4-4-2 is too easy to defend against, because it keeps us too narrow.I think with the players we have, a diamond 442 with Halloran and Goody at RM and LM respectively is our best bet.

Once Jacko and Strain come back, I would love us to go back to our 4-3-3 and really scare the other teams with our wide delivery options.

I agree it keeps us too narrow, I was more meaning it keeps our best players on the park and tries to offset out inexperienced midfield but putting our best wingers in there.I'm not so sure, Ed; 4-4-2 is too easy to defend against, because it keeps us too narrow.I think with the players we have, a diamond 442 with Halloran and Goody at RM and LM respectively is our best bet.

4-3-3 any day of the week if we have the players, just the 3 midfield spots in that formation is quite weak.

He must be the box to box being talked about.According to Val, we are talking to Daniel Adlung.

Obviously a huge attacking threat but wouldn't say he was known for his ability to hold possession when he played here first time round.
I think a DM would be preferable but if he is still fit at 33 I think we could do worse.

Given the level he’s been playing at not to mention he’s 33, it’s highly unlikely he’ll be anywhere near the player he once was.If he's the same player he was a couple of years ago, and he's injury-free, I'd take him. Step up from our current midfield.

How does the German 4th tier compare to the A-League?Given the level he’s been playing at not to mention he’s 33, it’s highly unlikely he’ll be anywhere near the player he once was.If he's the same player he was a couple of years ago, and he's injury-free, I'd take him.
