A really out there rumour circulating on Twitter that Fornaroli will be going to Victory in a swap deal for Toivonen.

I'll say it again. It's time to show some genuine ambition. It's Bobo time.
If I was Victory there is NO WAY I'm doing that deal. Toivonen is a beast of a player, Bruno is nearly done.

But the 2nd part I agree, if not Bobo maybe someone the age he was when he came here.

Imo mileusenic showed last season he is a fantastic athlete who could exploit his talents to create chances.

With that said his awareness and ability to hit the target are well below aleague standard.

I think he is one of those guys stuck between npl and aleague, shoulda coulda woulda been much better if only had x y z skills.
Yeah I agree. There are a lot of players out there like that. I mainly highlights just how tough the jump from NPL to HAL is. IMO even if there is a national 2nd div the same sort of thing will occur with some players.

Chelo to West Adelaide. Brilliant pick up for them, he obviously wants to keep playing at the highest level possible, and he loves living in Adelaide.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

I saw on fb that we have stopped pursuing Bobo and are in for Juric instead. I would prefer Bobo but Juric is a good signing nonetheless.

Ambition is high.

So we now want a striker who we wont see due to the Asian Cup...... seems odd.

Edit - He didnt make the squad. Lends a bit more credence to my statement really. A team who is crying out for goals and he doesnt make the squad.

He's got a decent scoring record at HAL level.
He can hold up the ball and draw others into attacks (which AU is crying out for)
He's been playing regularly in the Swiss league so fitness shouldn't be an issue.
He's 27 so he's at a good age to either come back to the HAL where injuries shouldn't be an issue. But still young enough to probably be a target of overseas clubs. So if he comes here and has a great season or two AU could see a healthy transfer fee out of him.
I would expect his wage bill to probably be less than half what Bobo would have been asking.

I admit his Socceroos form has dipped in the last 12 months. But 2016 and 17 were very good years for him under Ange. But obviously the HAL is a step down from HAL so I wouldn't say no to any current Socceroo coming to AU.

Plus an attacking front three of Goody...Juric...Halloran looks pretty good on paper and it would be great to see a HAL club with an attacking front line of all Aussie players. Something very few clubs have EVER had.

Juric would be good for us ... unless we manage our usual trick of turning players into non-scoring strikers.

I definitely agree with the last bit, a real rarity in our league. I just wonder if weve seen the best of him already, hes had a few injuries and just looks like a guy horribly down on confidence.

We need some presence up front and Juric would be an ideal candidate.

I would take Juric in a heartbeat, he's a good player at this level and as said probably wouldn't cost a fortune. Leaves us a bit of coin to fill that other massive hole where a playmaker should be. - Assuming we can release/get insurance payout for Baba.

In other news, John Aloisi has resigned as head coach of Brisbane Roar.

Massive if we sign juric!

Signing aussies over visas in key positions should always be the priority if both players presented are of similar quality.

This also allows much more freedom and depth in how we add visas to the squad.
