BABA Diawara’s wretched luck continues as his frustrating injury run is about to be further assessed by Adelaide United medicos.

Surgery is one of the likely options available for the Senegalese striker.
Club officials said Baba may now be suffering from a damaged meniscus.
Adelaide may have permission to sign an injury replacement striker during the FIFA January transfer window if Baba is ruled out long term.

Disappointing for him but could be a get out for the club if he is indeed out for the remainder of his contract and insurance covers it. Would we really have to wait until January though? We'd only be looking at free agents.

Ante was on 5RTI's Saturday Soccer show this morning and confirmed if Baba is out long term they'll be looking to sign a replacement.

Plenty of Aleague players have come to agreements abd terminated their contract and went to another club between windows.

Both of those players moved clubs in Jan/Feb when the summer window was still open. When players leave a club between windows, they can't play until the next window.

Eg: Janjetovic had to wait a month or two before he could sign for WSW.
