We’ve been through this multiple times Otto. Macarthur have a much stronger attack than we do and it’s very likely Al Hassan won’t even make their bench. Al Hassan would have played much more here had he stayed and the manager actually wanting to play him given he’s our best wing option outside of Halloran and Goodwin.

If he were to have left for more game time, they would be the last club he’d have gone to along with Sydney.
Sounds like MacArthur may have bit of an issue with a number of anti-vaxers in the squad. If he's had his jabs then he may yet have some opportunities.
That could be possible. That doesn’t explain why we’d release him though.
Agreed, though I thought it was good for him to move on anyway.

Let's see though as it depends on who the anti-vaxxers are. If it's the entire back-line then he isn't in much luck.

And while we are on the topic of departures, what’s going on with Jako? Doesn’t seem to be injured (or at least has a long term injury) but hasn’t been playing. Wonder if he’s the next one Veart is freezing out for no reason.
If this isn’t tongue in cheek then I give up.
He started a friendly tonight so he is definitely fit. Given he’s our best CB by far, it’s very strange that he hasn’t even been picked for either Cup game.
Not strange at all. He would have been the first player I’d rest against Olympic. Gave Veart a chance to look at the new guys and gave the new guys a chance to play with the team. We know what Jacobsen can do and why risk him unnecessarily.

As I said. Any stick to beat the coach with.
I’m out for a month or two.

He doesn’t need a rest, he needs match sharpness. Also if that were the case then why has no one else been rested then or why he didn’t play in the first Cup game either?

Okay bye, at least no one will straw man my posts for a while.

Agree re Jakobsen, we need him fit for the first game, not underdone.

Otto, surely you can't expect everyone to have the same opinion as you all the time on a football forum.... that's kind if what it's all about....

Jakobsen is 35 and was injured several times last season. The FFA Cup game was played on a hard artificial surface and we needs to manage his body. I agree he's our starting CB but I feel the criticisms against the coach and leadership are a bit hysterical.

The season can't come soon enough!

Ross Aloisi has said today that we are trying to get Lachlan Brook on loan but it’s unlikely to happen.

Judging by the women’s signings, signing of foreigners is only problematic if they are male :blah:

That’s because the women’s visa players were already in the country playing WNPL.

Cmon Sub, don’t ruin my whinging with facts now :D

Just wanted to highlight how pathetic the comments made about foreigners being too hard when there are numerous examples since where it clearly was possible!

I have not seen this posted yet ...
Adelaide United assistant coach Ross Aloisi has made an extraordinary claim about A-League clubs, believing “no-one abides” by the competition’s salary cap rules.

Clubs are permitted to make two marquee signings outside the salary cap – set at $2.5 million per club for the 2021/22 season – as well as one designated player who can have a salary between $300,000 and $600,000.

Apparently Adelaide City forward Asad Kasumovic is going to sign an 18 month scholarship deal.

Really impressed with his vision. I doubt Blackwood would’ve seen those passes while Yengi just doesn’t pass lmao

He stood out against MV the other day from what I saw of the match.
I thought AU should check him out.
