Blackwood out for 'up to 8 weeks' according to reports this morning. That sucks, but to provide perspective it's less than 1/3 of the season.
I have been a doubter of his but last night he showed great mentality and physicality to go along with his silky skills (and, of course, got his shoulder destroyed for his troubles)
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

8 weeks isnt so bad, i assumed a broken shoulder would be season ending.

Maybe there is something lost in translation with Kurzs english, could be more of a bad dislocation with damage done to connective tissue and liguments ?

Depends what you mean by shoulder. A hairline fracture to the collarbone is 6-8 weeks. A broken collarbone is also 6-8 weeks. A smashed collarbone with multiple fractures and breaks would be longer? A broken rotator cuff injury would be 6 months. They could all be called a "broken shoulder". I assume it was a completely broken collarbone.

Amor and Kovacevic.

We need a quality striker, you cannot win a title without one. If Bruce didnt hit a purple patch we would still be without an A League title.

because he is not frustrated by his injuries at all, its only us sitting in our armchair who have any right to be annoyed right?

i get it, its frustrating but I'm going to resist personal attacks for something that it totally out of his control. i suppose it depends on what kind of person you want to be.

Ive literally heard people call players pathetic for their injuries all while they themselves have sat idle on workcover for months.

its frustrating as hell, Baba is probably the best quality striker we have ever had but his injuries have destroyed him. It was totally justified to sign Baba for the long term by the previous management, it was probably one of the few proactive and positive signings they made. there is no guarantees in football.

I think we have to play Ilso upfront until Blackwood comes back, we play so much better with a tall powerful striker and it allows Halloran to play his natural game out wide.

Konsta is more than good enough to play 10.

when is AP back?
Baba can't get out on the pitch for whatever reason and it's continually costing us for too long. Be interesting if the club sign an injury replacement for Blackwood.? What'd Djite up to at the moment....
Ilso could get it together too and is going to need to lift.

Should be another week.

The club HAS to sign a replacement player, unless they dont want to win anything.

Who though?

Needs to be a player who is currently fit and able to do a job better than AP or ilso.

Brett mcgrath doesnt seem to be playing but is contracted

Bruce is clubless and likely unfit.

Babalj same as djite.

I think simply pushing ilso up and putting konsta in the midfield is our only viable option

I agree. I think the Halloran experiment hasn't worked and creates more problems than is resolves. He's wasted anywhere but the wing.
AP is still away with the U19s. They play Saudi Arabia tomorrow if they win that game it's unlikely he'll be available for AU till R4 v Perth.
Time to Djbate!

We need to call Bruce. If we can get him on the right salary why not.

Even as a mentor to some of the younger guys.
