Amazing to see a legend return! Wow 3 year deal! He'll be 37 when he hangs up the boots.
Time to Djbate!
Re: Who's signed for next season
I don't care if we have 3 DMs and no AM we have my favourite ever AU player coming home and he is going to retire in a Reds shirt!
Player/coach/mentor role for him at the club in the latter part of his deal methinks.
Welcome home you bloody ripper!!!

Still looks as fit as a whippet, but more importantly, he brings an attitude of professionalism, football smarts and genuine leadership to the team. Other players play better when he's on the pitch.
Just as crucial is that he wants to be here and lead the team.
Smart move. Welcome back.

Re: Who's signed for next season
I thought it'd be inevitable that he'd be back in Adelaide, just wasn't expecting to be so soon. Can't complain though, since we'll have one of our greatest players back in a red shirt. Smart move to lock him in for 3 too.

Re: Who's signed for next season
According to triple M, AUFC are in talks with a veteran striker who'll be 37 years old next year.
Here's a couple of random options that may fit the bill-
Besart Berisha
Roy O'Donovan
Cristiano Ronaldo
Could be someone else but those 3 are the most likely

Wouldn't be too disappointed given he is a proven scorer, albeit getting a bit past it.
As long as he is coming here knowing he will be warming the bench a lot / providing advice and mentorship to the younger forwards.

Please not Berisha.
Red does not suit him at all.
And there is too much water under that bridge ...

Re: Who's signed for next season
Firstly I think Bes is on his way back to Germany, so hopefully that is ruled out.
But why are we talking to 37year Olds? The criteria for recruiting ought to be:
- Do we need someone in that position?
- Are they South Australian?
- Does the player have resale potential?
Maybe out of order, maybe you only need two out of three but I can't see this mystery 37 year old ticking any box.

Re: Who's signed for next season
I was reading an article about Jack Wilshere looking at playing abroad and seeking a new challenge. Could Adelaide United make a move for the 29 year old ex-Arsenal and Bournemouth player and bring him in as a marquee player. Given that he has a clean bill of health, he would be excellent as an attacking midfield player. He has been approached by WSW in the past, but I would love an exciting player like him.

Most rumoured to be Roy O'Donovan. He just turned 36 (10 August), hence the emphasis on his age.According to triple M, AUFC are in talks with a veteran striker who'll be 37 years old next year.

Although, off the top of my head Bobo turns 37 next year as well.
