Pacifique is trialling with them. That'll come back to haunt us.

Re: RE: Re: Who's signed for next season
Hopefully this is a bit of a case of AU putting their eggs in a different basket. Mo Toure is still on a youth scholarship. No doubt he'd have external parties in his ear telling him what path his career needs to take. Hopefully AU is able to put a good enough offer on the table to lock him in here for a 2-3 year contract. If he continues his trajectory imagine the player he could be in 18 months.Pacifique is trialling with them. That'll come back to haunt us.
If AU sadly is the size of club that needs to choose who to hold on to wisely.
I totally understand the other side of this coin though. Imagine being 18 years old and AU gets a $1m+ offer for him and he moves to a club abroad that expects results and return from their spend straight away. That's a lot of weight on a young person's shoulders.
Time to Djbate!

Re: Who's signed for next season
Noah Smith picked up by CCM for a year.
I think I'm most disappointed by the release of Smith this year. We are determined to never have a natural left back in the squad.
I need some good news at the club pretty soon if possible, I've got that off season sour taste in my mouth but it may just be the ant's piss..

2 players are 100% signed (just not announced yet) 2 more are very close to being signed
Re: Who's signed for next season
Hopefully external players with some pedigree rather than promotion of juniors (which I don't consider to be noteworthy announcements, albeit good news in terms of our development).

Re: Who's signed for next season
Okay so a few things.
We will be signing someone today with someone else to be signed this week as well. Two more players are close to signing as Andyjebiga said.
Kusini Yengi will be given first crack in the #9 position.
We won't be signing any foreigners.
Toure brothers are expected to stay.

Re: Who's signed for next season
So it’s too difficult to sign any foreigners for AU but other clubs have managed to. Righto, seems about standard then.
Can’t see us doing much next season without a few quality imports as the ones on our books are solid citizens.
Going to be s as hard sell for the club judging by comments on social media plus the eastern grandstand being out of action I reckon.

Re: Who's signed for next season
InDaily understands that the signing will be an Australian, and solid but not ground-breaking.
Whilst it’s great that the Reds have finally made a move in the player market, it may not be enough to swell growing fan concern about how the Reds are shaping up for the upcoming season.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Val reckons an ex victory defender in AU sights, I guess they were completely shite defensively last few seasons so seems a logical choice if true

Sounds like it’s Nick Ansell.InDaily understands that the signing will be an Australian, and solid but not ground-breaking.

He’s okay when fit bit he’s very injury prone. We really missed a trick by not going for someone like Koutroumbis IMO.

never realitically in the running for Johnny K, financially our offer was half of what hes now on at wanderers.
our fanbase needs to understand that we dont spend anywhere near the amount of money compared to clubs on the east coast, heavy budget restrictions each season make it impossible.
we are a selling club, fans have no option but to accept that. - gets the kids in, play them for a year or 2 then sell them on, rinse repeat.
it is what it is unfortunately

Re: Who's signed for next season
Your right Andy, but our offer to Elsey was apparently low ball, we have 30% of the squad on scholarships so the question is are we even paying the salary cap anymore?
Hard to see us even getting similar standard players to what we lost this off season, so not selling much hope to our fans if average Aussies, 3 decent but unspectacular imports and a group of kids is what we have going forward.
If WSW can still double our offer to Koutrombis after all their other signings so far, we are on par with Ccm in the money stakes - any chance of being sold and relocated to Tassie or something like that ?

Re: Who's signed for next season
Ansell confirmed, for me it’s a downgrade on Elseyand definitely not an improvement to the defence. Cant wait to see what they do about LB position

Probably would have cost more than Johnny K as well.
