AFAIK they weren't interested in extending his deal even though we would like to keep him, probably different story if we could pay for him.

So ignoring the jero rumors as they'll sign another Spaniard if he goes, we have 2 slots. One's a CB position which seems its McKain's if he wants it. Really I think we need another Elrich type for that other slot.

Cassio is another big question mark and may need replacing as well.

Not officially announced yet but that is the word. Same with Melling to Heart.

Yeah hopefully they can shift him into a coaching role. I think he would still be taking a fair chunk of the salary cap. But as long as he is on the long term injury list he is able to be replaced. Only problem is how many good players would be attracted to signing for us a just an injury replacement? Maybe someone that was considering a move back to Oz? Maybe another loan deal?

Sad to see him go, quality player and obviously a leader. I have no doubts he will be able to pick up a decent contract elsewhere though.

They wouldn't have released such a senior player without having a replacement in mind though, very interested to see who that could be...
