Re: Who's signed for next season
Popovic is a fantastic player, so much composure for someone so young. Future Socceroo. If he leaves us any time soon we'd be wanting to ask for a BIG fee.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Steve hall off to Brighton in the epl according to channel 7.
Also reported Popovic to Korea- as our only decent CB would leave us completely bare at the back.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Probably explains why they've started to push Isa back there a bit more.
Tbh not a bad move for Isa given his age.
Congrats to Hall and Pops - both deserving, and can't begrudge any player going overseas (for a fee to boot!).

Re: Who's signed for next season
Popovic and Hall gone according to the squad for tomorrow night. Only warland as a recognised CB which means Isa at CB. As the midfield needs Isa, looks like we are getting weaker each transfer window.
Need about 4 signings imo and reckon we will get about 1. Clearly club has no ambition this season besides selling any decent player and making $$$.

If the club receives a decent offer for a player from a bigger league, and the player wants to further his career, they really can't say no can they.
It's naive to think otherwise.

Re: Who's signed for next season
I don’t have an issue with players leaving or doing that @ Martin.
I always look at what is left and what is coming in and unfortunately the last 5-6 years bar Goody and 1-2 others, the ins have been pretty average. Popovic has been our best CB all year, losing him knowing we have an out of sorts Warland, always injured ansell and a nowhere to be seen Barr- doesn’t really scream ambitions for current season.
On top of selling Goody and Nestor moving on, it’s pretty deflating.

Kikianis CB and Talladira LB in the squad.
Thoughts on either?

I can tell you Talladira is primarily a LB. Only young but pretty promising imo. His dad was a championship winner with city in the nsl.

The CB stocks looked reasonably good at the start of the season. Four guys who had all started a decent amount of games and done well. It's been well documented on here that our defensive woes have been more about the lack of defensive cover in midfield rather than a specific weakness in the back line.
Anyway, I think to say that the owners are only interested in selling players is a bit of reach. Sure they probably want to balance the books as much as possible, but they gave Carl a decent squad that he seemed relatively happy with.
Not much you can do when bigger fish come calling.

Gauci to Villa.
Great opportunity but won't play much. Will have to be loaned out.

Re: Who's signed for next season
When does AU have to actually sign players from a transfer window perspective?
We won’t have team soon at this rate!

If Gauci is their second keeper (which I assume he would be), rather than third keeper, then he’ll probably feature in their European & Cup games.Deli be happyGauci to Villa.
