This account has posted this and followed up saying details will be posted later and that if the rumours are true he's not surprised he left.

Re: Who's signed for next season
He did ask the club for recruits and then a major falling out, geez wonder if he could see the writing on the wall at Au with him and 20 kids making up the squad.
Bottom 2 for the reds without goody, the only real quality player in the squad leaves as they all seem to do.
Get a few more scholarships signings reds, that will fix it

Is this legit the reason for the falling out?He did ask the club for recruits and then a major falling out, geez wonder if he could see the writing on the wall at Au with him and 20 kids making up the squad.

I get we need recruits but the club's hands are tied if the owners don't give us the funds. There is no way Carl and the coaching staff wouldn't want reinforcements but if there is no money there is no money.
Re: Who's signed for next season
Max Burford on Twitter:
"Understand the transfer fee is over $1.2 million which Adelaide plans to spend on 2-3 new players.
Hard to begrudge Goodwin taking a life-changing pay-rise for the chance to play against Ronaldo, Neymar, Benzema and co.
He finishes his goodbye video implying he will be back..."

Re: Who's signed for next season
Ed, not sure but I put 2and 2 together and came up with 5. Goody definitely did ask for recruiting of quality a month or two back, so would not be surprised if that was part of it, especially after getting thumped in the cup.
I dare say 7.5 million over 3 seasons is the main reason though!
As for the reds, looks like a train wreck atm.

Re: Who's signed for next season
I remember Bruce Djite attracting a $1m transfer fee to Gençlerbirliği.
Granted $1.2m is a much bigger deal for an older player than it is for a 20 year old with high resale potential. But it's interesting we still see fees in that ball park for Adelaide's very best players even after 15 years.

Re: Who's signed for next season
It's feeling a bit pissant at the moment.
Losing our best player/captain/socceroo hero.
Lacklustre performance in OUR cup.
No signings at all apart from 3 scholarship announcements who were already in the setup.
Big talk from the owners about investing in the club.
No presence from AUFC at the royal show, no AUFC showbag which is disappointing, although I did see Hiro with his family while there.
It's hard to believe that both our National teams have had the best world cup performances in their history in the last 12 months and the league and our club have not capitalised on it at all.
Wasted opportunities and disappointment as usual.
Definitely don't begrudge Goodwin going, if I could make 7.5mil in the next 3 years and set my family up for life I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I was really hoping the Pelligra deal was going to come off. Seemed like a good step in the right direction. It’s the bloody owners who should be leaving the way they treat this great club is criminal , if they don’t want to invest sell up and puss off

Re: Who's signed for next season
I suspect what has happened is (based on vague Twitter commentary):
1. There's no money to spend on players from.owners.
2. They can sell Goody for $1.2m so decide to do it.
3. Owners keep half or so and say you can spend the rest on some replacements.
Sucks, but it's clear that the owners are not investing a penny. We have to use funds generated from within the club and this the an unfortunate outcome of it.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Let’s look at needs then
We need a captain
A midfielder or two
A left winger
A striker
Definitely need a CB or two that can defend
Not sure 800k is covering all of that. I’d say we are screwed a month out from the season as the majority of the squad is NPL level.
Who are our current ‘stars’ or experienced?
Halloren, Kitto, hiroishi, isa at 38yo, warland and barely Clough who IMO is bang average at best
Not including anyone under 18 like Nestor it’s a joke how bad the squad actually is especially the non existent midfield and poor CB options. So disappointing there is a cycle of pissanting at AU ever since Bianco departed

Re: Who's signed for next season
A long slog ahead. Underdogs is how we have always done it but this year is a few steps too far gone already. Lets just hope we dont embarrass our proud club on the 20th anniversary
