Re: Who's signed for next season
I don't mind Juric out, Yengi should surpass him next year plus Toure2.
If we go in Goodwin - Yengi - Halloran, I think that line is ok.
Rather see the cash spent on a #10 and some defenders.

Very disappointed, give him service and he scores loads. Was made the scapegoat by a lot of people who were happy to overlook CVs tactics (or lack thereof) and the clubs failure to sign a #10.Juric is reportedly off to Macarthur as a replacement for Matt Derbyshire.
Another big blow.

Re: Who's signed for next season
We have plenty of options up front and out wide. I don't like losing Pacifique as I feel we are little light on creativity. however what is done is done.
Everyone, every year, calls out for a creative #10; it's becoming a mantra. Personally I prefer a CM that can pick that killer moment of transition that lets loose the hounds. D'Arrigo has it, but keeps getting pushed up the park. Get a decent #10 that is perhaps slightly box to box and let D'Arrigo sit deeper. Cavallo may well fit the role.
My main concern is who replaces Strain and Elsey.

Why do we have to rob Peter to pay Paul every season? Why can’t we have a no 10 and 9, it’s the same story every year. We strengthen one area by weakening another.

Everything would be fine if we could just find a friendly Russian oligarch.
No...hang on....
Seriously, Bruce leaving is not a good sign. I can cope with us swinging between being a struggling squad blooding new players and a dangerous squad with Championship potential (as we have been), but I'm not sure the club will survive becoming the Jets.

Would love to see DArrigo number 6 next year with Mauk the 8.
Put Louis there and expect to collect a big fee for him at season's end. Why we signed Juande, I'll never know.
Cavallo or Caletti were sort of the back up 10's that just weren't up to it, we should move on from the wishful thinking they'll fill this role.
So for me the front 3 are good (Halloran, Goodwin, Yengi/Toure)
The middle 3 we have 2 (Mauk, D'Arrigo)
The back 4 we have 2 (Lopez, Jako)
Oh and we need a director of football ?

Re: Who's signed for next season
So a few things have been revealed today.
Carl and Ross have extended their contracts for another year.
Director of Football has been appointed and will be announced in the coming days.
We are no closer to finding out where Tomi’s future lies.
Veart also said this “Hopefully there’s some good news coming in the next week or so with a key signing”

Not sure how reliable this is but I hope we don't sell Yengi yet. I genuinely think he could become one of our best ever strikers.
"EXCLUSIVE: According to Polish sources, Adelaide United rejected a $550,000 offer from an undisclosed Polish club. Deal included bonuses and 10% sell on."

I would love to see him back but wouldn't that leave us a little bit overstocked in the veteran Spanish defensive midfielder department?

I can't see this being for real.
That's a decent offer for a player who is far from being the finished article. I think AU would snap that up quick smart tbh.

We can only fit one of the two in the XI and as a cash strapped club, we can’t afford having one of our highest paid players warning the bench.
If we play them both, then there’s a very real chance we’ll get overrun by younger energetic players in a weekly basis.
If Isaias were to return, I wonder if we could flog Juande off to Perth or Victory given Popa’s now there.

Not sure if that's the message the club wants to send to current players and any potential future signings - "sure we'll give you a contract, but if something better comes along we will be looking to move you on to the other side of the country asap".
Juande and his family love Adelaide and he is great mates with Lopez. For better or worse we are tied to those 2 for next season, and not just contractually but I would say also for the good of squad harmony.
