I like the way their father is speaking. Fingers crossed they view their time with AU as a key stepping stone and not a place holding them back. I believe its a fine line between jumping on a plane to Europe too early and then missing the opportunity all together.
I hope the club is in a position to throw a decent contract at the lads so they aren't leaving for free like many other missed opportunities the club has let slip thru their fingers over the years.

If he's the same player he was a couple of years ago, and he's injury-free, I'd take him. Step up from our current midfield.
Given the level he’s been playing at not to mention he’s 33, it’s highly unlikely he’ll be anywhere near the player he once was.
How does the German 4th tier compare to the A-League?
The appeal for me is that he's a known quantity. We can sign an ex top 5 league player and he could hardly play or never adapt.

Not very well I'd imagine.

Mirko Boland is playing every week for the worst team in the 3 Liga and he was surplus to requirements so I can't imagine a 33 year old Daniel Adlung playing in the regional leagues contributing much, not to mention signing a visa player from that level is insulting to the league.

Adelaide don't necessarily need an attacking midfielder. they need one of the central/defensive midfielders to have the judgement and skill to know when to join an attack and when to stay back. Adlung can play that role perfectly if he is still at the level he was when he left here. But it seems like it should be a solvable problem with the current squad members, and much less risky than an older import.

Mauk should be playing that role next to D'Arrigo in a 4-4-2 IMHO, but you'd probably have to put someone other than Calleti there when the 4-3-3 is used (assuming Mauk takes up a more advanced position then.)

As unlikely as this is, I think I would cry tears of joy if this happened.

My guess is it's one of Lopez or Izzy's mates who's pushing 34 and keen to try a different challenge to tier 3 Liga.

I agree with below.

IMO how a player goes in a new league has little to do with what league they come from (granted its not the 8th div of SAASL!) A good example is Palanca who at 28 came from Spanish Segunda but failed to do well here.
There are so many reasons why a player can succeed or fail at a new club. If Adlung were to come and is fully fit I think he would do well at AU again.

Interesting news about a Spanish midfielder coming! Hopefully Lopez has reported back to some La Liga mates that he's really enjoying life in Adelaide.

Yeah can only imagine the conversation:

"ITS GREAT, no covid, good weather, very safe, paid on time, great wineries........ What's that? The football? Aaaaaah, I'm not really sure, I've barely played. Did I mention the food?"

Offshore Jack, is the new Spanish player a defensive midfielder with the initials R.B? Not only do we need an attacking midfielder, but I wasn't impressed with R.B when he last played in Australia. Yes he has experience (Over 150 games in La Liga) but we need somebody better than him.

According to Val it could be this bloke Juan de Dios Prados López currently playing in the Indian Super League.

Now we wait to see who the club announces.

Seems likely based on the other comments. I never really paid too much attention to Juande when he was playing at Perth but I dont remember him being that impressive. Happy to be proven wrong though!

Most of us are calling for more experience in the centre of the park. Jaunde certainly has that! No doubt we'd all rather a player to cover what Troisi should have offered AU but if he's fit, I think he would be a good addition to the squad. As we can tell by Carl's comments when the previous visa player fell thru. Jaunde isn't the club's first preference.
In the 2 seasons he was with Perth he managed 20 game seasons so he's clearly capable of stringing games together at A-league level.
