Re: Who's signed for next season
Mauk is presented to the media.
No more signings.
No one leaving.
And hard words from Bruce towards the national set up.
Something seems to have gone wrong with the handling of Toure's injury.
Far out!

Re: Who's signed for next season
Bits I found interesting in this interview:
Reporter asked Mauk if he could play as a 9 (on the back of Toure being out for the season):
Mauk smiled and was about to answer and Verbeek interjected and said "Do not ask him, he will play where I tell him to play" absolutely deadpan
Second, Verbeek said we do not have a lot of good defenders and also having a different midfield/forward line each week means it's difficult for them to press in unison - this being the reason for us conceding a lot of goals.
So the coach definitely knows we need defenders, I guess his hands are just tied and he was to work with what he's got.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Another jaffer of a comment from Verbeek lol.
I still don't like this recruitment, although I expect it to be more about next season if/when we lose McGree and we get rid of Boland.
We certainly need an extra CB but it's a difficult thing. If you bring in a senior type they'll expect to play all the time, and will Elsey want to sit on the pine ??

Mcgree is on quite a long contract If i remember correctly, we would probably ask for a huge transfer fee given we apparently paid up to a million for him. So i wont be shocked if he stays for another season.
I also cant see troisi going back to eyrooe at his age. If he goes anywhere it would be thailand or india on a big money deal but he has a few more good years left before he might take that route i think.
Mileusenic I think will go sadly.

I think it's more like 100k for McGree if I recall correctly.Mcgree is on quite a long contract If i remember correctly, we would probably ask for a huge transfer fee given we apparently paid up to a million for him. So i wont be shocked if he stays for another season.

And just like that, with Konsta out, Mauk's signing was a brilliant move by the club! lol

According to transfermarkt we paid $1.5 million for him, I would be shocked if it was that high. No clue where they got that from either because can't find anything online.I think it's more like 100k for McGree if I recall correctly.Mcgree is on quite a long contract If i remember correctly, we would probably ask for a huge transfer fee given we apparently paid up to a million for him. Biggest transfer fees ever received by A-League clubs are below, I think considering his age and clear ability we would be looking to break that record. I don't think we have seen an Australian dominate the league to this extent since Mooy, just gets overshadowed because our team isn't as good and he plays for Adelaide. He should be one of the frontrunners for the Johnny Warren Medal IMO
1. Matthew Spiranovic>ZJ Greentown - $2.26 million (aged 27)
2. Mark Bridge>Chiangrai United - $2.19 million (aged 30)
3. Rostyn Griffiths>Ghangzhou R&F - $2.19 million (aged 23)
4. Bruce Djite>Genclerbirligi - $1.95 million (aged 21)
5. Adrian Mierzejewski>Chanchung Yatai - $1.78 million (aged 31)
Re: Who's signed for next season
Konst has ruptured his ACL in training
Far out he was JUST breaking into the first team with some strong performances.
This late in the season it's probably all of next year gone too.
Wishing him well for recovery.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Tough break for Konsta - it's definitely a good thing we have Mauk in the squad now
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

5-6 clubs chasing Ben Halloran's signature. Hopefully we can retain him.
Re: Who's signed for next season
Halloran is one of our most consistent performers. Quality player. Must retain him.
