Ok so I think it would be good to keep this thread separate from the voting.

I've had a quick look in my lunch break at the various trophy outlets in Adelaide.

The following link probably has the best online catalogue I could find so those interested should have a look through this for some ideas.

Personally, I think most of the "soccer" trophies look cheap and anything with a gold or silver person on it looses it's charm after you turn 10.

Some of the "awards" ones looked pretty nice, however this seems to be "glass acrylic" which google tells me is similar to perspex. Was hoping for some glass ones with a bit of weight in them.

I think a Golden Pissant on a redwood base would be good.

I would like a perpetual trophy and momento, so there is something to display in the club and something for the player to keep.

I actually like the idea of the Golden Pissant as a momento and would like something a little ostentatious for the perpetual cup

If anyone knows a good engraver I could always enlist the help of a mate to make a simple but classy trophy out of timber, then we can attach an engraved plaque.



Anyway, I made a very rough mockup (you'll have to forgive the shitty proportions and perspective work) of an idea I had for if we were to just get it custom done. If it was made out of a nice wood and possible a much thicker yet smaller base, could be nice.

Yeah we are good mate so it wouldn't be too expensive, mostly the cost of foundry fee's etc, he wants to get his work out there and this would be a good way to do it.

Yeah I reckon a shield of the AU logo with WATR player of the year .......... engraved over the top.

BTW what are people's thoughts on finals? Should we include them? They are still AU HAL season 8 games so I say yes!

I think we should come up collectively with an idea of the design and then request a quote, if it's not too insane then I'm sure we can all pitch in and get it happening. Would be an awesome tradition to start up.

What about if the trophy was the AUFC shield, except with no colouring of course and just the text

"We Are The Reds
Fan Player Of The Season 2012/13
Player Name"

Then if we like, have the pissant standing behind the shield pissing on it

That guy can sure make some crazily good designs, I'm sure a simple design like a badge with a few details would be easy for him to do, but would still look good.

How about the bronzed AUFC shield set on a wooden larger shield with

"We Are The Reds"
Fans player on the season

Set/engraved onto the bronzed shield. Then have smaller engraved discs around the edge of the wooden shield
