Re: Kosmina quits Adelaide United
Kosmina uses my exact words as I said them on 5AA radio;
"Club has a reactive mentality"
Absolutely it does. Until this changes, continue on that downward spiral.
As for him jumping ship, well, considering our position I would have thought he'd have stuck around to see it through.

What a way to wake up today!
I'm very keen to see the clubs response and who they will be putting incharge. What is stubins situation at the moment? Would love to see him get the top job

*Sigh*
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Thanks again for everything Kossie.
I've said it from the start but I'll say it again, anyone who buys a financial membership is a mug.
Free the Adelaide 10,000.

Rumour has it the Club will save $1000 per week on funds for coffee beans alone.

I am a tad confused in relation to this. I am looking forward to a more coherent picture emerging over the next few days.

Re: Kosmina quits Adelaide United
Good riddance. I thank Kossie for all he's done for the club, but he just isn't up to it anymore imo. He's been great for us over the years, but it just wasn't working.
We need to find a top quality coach to manage this side. Not Michael Valkanis ffs. Take a damn risk, look overseas like most other A-League clubs do. We need someone who can bring this club together and make it stable again, because, at the moment, it's a sinking ship with all it's soldiers falling overboard.

Anyway does anyone else think Kossie is a little to blame here.
Putting personal grudges before the club he is so passionate about, being head coach he should be able to raise issues and make it known to the owners that there is something wrong rather then just walking away.
Just my opinion.
We are UNITED, after all....

Re: Kosmina quits Adelaide United
The only thing that I'm annoyed with Kossie for is burning bridges with SVD then leaving immediately after. We really could have done with Serg right now.
Apart from that I don't blame him. From everything I've seen of the clowns running this club I wouldn't want to work for them either.

Re: Kosmina quits Adelaide United
Again I'm right.
Told ya, Kossie would be gone by the end of January.
And that the board have been meddling to white ant the club---- again.
Deja vu all over again like after Viddie and Coolen fiascos.
So Micky V is favourite..... Has'nt set the world on fire as defensive coach. But with the success of Popavich and Aloisi, young ex-socceroos, that's the trend I suppose.e
There are always the A League recycles -Ernie Merrick, Miron Bilberg.
Only one question though, Why didn't Kossie quit a month ago, we might still have a striker....

Re: Kosmina quits Adelaide United
Not sure why people are blaming Kossie for SVD going, he was agitating for a move to Indonesia since last season once seeing the sackfuls of rupiah & national team cap on offer. It was always a matter of time until he left, the board should've sold him in the off season & at least got a transfer fee for him. Maybe Kossie could then have got another striker in who would have at least committed to the club short term.
Re: Kosmina quits Adelaide United
Mixed emotions about this one. I got the feeling Kossie was coming to the end of his usefulness for the club, but I still respected what he has done for us and hoped that there might be an amicable parting of ways at season's end. Instead, we burn another of our own, much like we did with Aurelio.
Notwithstanding, is this a prime example of the benefit we should have of having a Director of Football, over and above any coach/manager? An effective DoF has a long term vision for the club, has full input into personnel decisions and strategies, such that a club can stay on the same path even when the manager changes. See Ajax.
Conversely, we had Griffen tell us a few days ago that Caravella and Serg leaving was "purely a coach's decision", that the call was up to Kossie. Two days later Kossie is out the door, we've lost two players we could actually use this season, and any new coach that comes in will spend the rest of this season and the first half of next "building their squad", "getting the team to learn a new style" blah blah blah.

I don't think we should jump to conclusions until we know more about it
But damn - couldn't have come at worse time.
Not too upset about losing Kossie because of his coaching ability - but under the circumstances it's really disappointing.
I would love Miron to coach us.

From Twitter-land;
Apparently, media kicked out of Hindmarsh Stadium following Kosmina quitting.
Adelaide United players finding out via twitter.
Mark Rudan (@MarkRudan);
"Not surprised to hear of Kosmina’s resignation. He did well & deserved to be treated better, as do the Adelaide fans!" #KossieQuits
