This. In my head its like Simon Hill is Muhammad Ali and Graham Cornes is............Graham Cornes, its fair to say Cornes is getting his ass kicked!Listening to it now. Loving it so far!
Re: Simon Hill vs Cornesy on 5AA about his ADP article
Simon Hill just went up a peg in my book. Glad to see someone put Cornesy in his place.
Absolutely dominated him. That article was a disgrace.
My biggest irk with these pieces is the significant lack of knowledge and reckless disregard for the actual truth that goes into them - particularly the claim that Sydney could spend 2 million on a player but no other team could. Absolute farce - "Writers" like this old sod shouldn't be allowed to write this garbage.
I think the third guy (who barely got a word in) put it perfectly saying that the AFL boys are jealous and scared of Football's potential to dominate Australian sport one day.
Particularly interesting point was Simon's comment regarding the multiculturalism of Australia, yet media is dominated by Anglo-Saxon journos. Why there is such a huge disconnect between the readers and pretty much every reporter out there.

Yay first post
The thing that gets me is if Simon hill wrote about AFL like that cornes would crucify him to no end.
What about the two months going on and on about Kurt Tippett.
Glad Simon put him in his place. Said what all football fans have been thinking.

Cornes is such a wanker, he doesn't realise how bad he sounded in that segment. Simon Hill is a legend.

Simon Hill just bossed cornes.
the fact that football media and fans are finally making a stand for our code is great. football has shown it will not be bullied.....it's starting to fight back.

People, football supporters, you are still 2nd class sporting citizens over there.

Re: Simon Hill vs Cornesy on 5AA about his ADP article
My problem with Cornes’s Opinion Piece is not that he voiced it. It’s the complete lack of respect he shows to the game of football and its fans. A lot of football fans issues with the main stream media in this country would disappear if editors and so called 'journos' adopted a little bit more of a respectful attitude for the game when levelling criticisms at it rather than just taking cheap shots and belittling those of us that chose to follow it with passion.Yay first post

Good interview, Simon Hill sounds genuinely fired up...
Rowey: "I don't want to bat for Simon or Cornesy and I've stayed out of this but Cornesy, I think deep deep down you don't like the game and I think deep deep down you're scared it might be bigger than AFL..."

All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

I got some new found respect for Stephen Rowe out of that the interview, comes across as a guy who even though AFL is his preference genuinely enjoys both codes and wants to see both do well. If there were more AFL guys with his attitude as opposed to Cornes' we wouldn't keep having these barneys.
