Sergio released from his contract

Postby kienchil Tue Jan 15, 2013 10:08 am

It's an article by Val so take it with a grain of salt, and it basically rehashes alot of stuff we already know about Serg but probably the most important thing to extract out of it, is that Serg probably isn't leaving in the current Transfer window, something i've always maintained as he still has citizenship issues with Indonesia at the moment.

Update: Looks like Serg has gone a bit more into detail here Regarding his imminent transfer :http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/foo ... 6554308760. Still nothing new though, basically he will see out the end of his contract then ship out to Persib Bandung once his citizenship clears. Confirms he wont be heading to another A-league team though!

Considering this is the week where Serg has his best chance of returning to the line-up, was it really wise of him to break his silence?

Stupid timing, really dumb.

Promo for tonight's news says the he says he has played his last game for the club.

Not surprised, although I expect he may turn up a Glory next season (closer to home!)
He missed out on Bangkok Glass and the Indonesian stuff is still up in the air, and Glory are looking for a striker.

Not according to his press release here! http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/ade ... tive/58242

He will go to Indonesia, he wants to play international football for Indonesia and the easiest way is for him to play in the Indonesian league. As well as his family ties over there. Of couse if Perth are willing to spring for a big paycheck it wouldn't be too bad as Perth is alot closer to Indonesia than Adelaide!

We'll still have to keep paying for him if we release him. Which is why he hasn't just walked away and why were waiting for someone to buy him.

I can’t believe Serg is pining for the Coolen Days?
Probably a little bit of national solidarity there, but under Coolen's stewardship the club completely lost its way and lost a fair bit of its spirit. I compare the place we are at right now to 12 months ago and I thank God we have Kossie, please sign him up for 2 years and help Serg find his way out ASAP. He obviously doesn’t want to be here so lets just get anything we can get and focus on refining the plan we currently have now.

Looks like you were right, Val just wrote he is close to being released, the questio is, are we bringing in another international to replace him?

Good news. I don't think we'll sign another Into.

Rini's impending court payout is more than enough of an excuse for the board to cut spending.

Plus, you'd hope with the depth we have, some players who are in youth can step up.

I think serg gave them no choice after he went to the media. In all honesty fair enough to , he just wants to move on.

Serg has been professional throughout, classy guy

Good on him, hope he gets picked up, even by another HAL club for now, maybe Perth but I think he's too young for them?

Kossie has said we won't be bringing anyone in this transfer window. Mabil may be his replacement.

Personally I think he sees Kostopoulos as Serg's replacement.
