Yeah I'm reading a few people saying they are holding off renewing as well. Sadly most are just attempting to hold the club to ransom over hiring a coach promptly and their liking of the new signings which is sad.
But I too am holding off re-signing as the way the club has handled the Elrich situation really left a bad taste in my mouth. I understand people can step out of line at times but to act they we Griff did in a public forum and I would be surprised if he has remorse of IMO highlights the character of him and the way the club is being run. That coupled with the lack of interest in offering fans info on huge developments like player movement and then have Grant act like somehow the fans are out of line for wanting to know reeks of arrogance and as a member I feel taken for granted.
I'm not sure what I expect to change as I can't see change occurring for some time. But I think it is more likely that I'll buy the occasional match day ticket next season over a full membership.
Hopefully a significant drop in memberships will wake the club up to how they need to treat club legends and members.
Greg Griffin also said in his interview with Rowey that there ISN'T a disconnect between club and fans and that fan engagement is fantastic etc etc. You'd think GG would know that fans are angry amd frustrated after the followed him to his car to abuse him after a game.

My problem with membership is this-

16/17 my reserved seat (now platinum) cost $400 to watch the double champion team defend their title in 14 home matches, all at Coopers.

17/18 the same seat is now $550 to watch the 9th place team with currently no coach and half a squad list, play 13 home matches, with at least 1 at Adelaide Oval it seems.

My brother is in the same boat. No matter what the club does or who they sign, we cant justify paying more money for less games to a club that seems to give zero fucks about its own players or its fans, except for the money in their pockets.

We might get GA memberships but it wont be until october when we can see which direction the club will be heading in. I'm not trying to hold the club to ransom, I'm just putting this out there so if the club read it they might get an insight into how this particular fan feels.

Yeah it'd be easy to dismiss all of our concerns that way but it really isn't.

Sounds less like "holding the club to ransom" and more like "customer dissatisfaction".
Two totally different things.

Not to be too political, but this particular ad on the club's online store isn't particularly appealing to me

It could certainly be timed better. In a time when most posting the union jack out of respect for the dead. AU are posting it to flog off last season's merch.

AU re-tweeting this is the extent of information we've got that the side is back from holidays....

I do appreciate Reegs on social media, he's pretty funny. I think the club could do a lot worse than have someone like him as the mouth piece for the club.

I think he's great. He's got a personality and should be part of our leadership group this year.

Not the sharpest player but gives 100% every time.

Maybe he can finally be the player to take over Fabian Barbiero's role at the club.

I'd love to see more of this and would love to see the club bring back the pitch #culture #fanengagement.

That and the pitch with Jarrod Walsh was great. I imagine he doesn't have the time to do such a thing anymore, its sad the club has seemingly made no effort to replace that.
It was an excellent way for fans to connect with the players more. Especially the young ones who we rarely hear from.

That's all I can ask for this season.

I promise to give 100% for the 5 minutes it takes for me to have a heart attack.
Can I have a contract as well?

I'm sure you'd be happy with the salary. I'm not so sure about the confidentiality agreement Griff will make you sign! :D
