Cassio and Wato look ok going forward for us but got caught out defensively. Barbs sured up our midfield when he came on.

I was only able to physically watch the first half before taking my lady to the airport, but even that was enough to decide that no player deserves votes.

so it has to be asked...where are bruce djites votes???? he played the exact same as every other game and you all vote for him and harp on about the shape changing if he isnt on and he isnt a goal scoring stiker...then we lose and no ones claiming he is essential to the team and is vital to us winning?

Bruce Djite was not the only United player on the park last night.

Zanzibar- I'm not gonna disagree with you, Bruce was missing last night but he has been playing well, a goal against CCM and at least 2 assists against MV and NIX.

Haven't decided to vote or not yet but Jeronimo was good when he came on, good enough to earn a start at least.

im not attacking bruce only, just always amazed when he plays a small role in the results and gets so many votes here....yet last night he performed the same way he did when he gets votes??? i'm not saying he played crap in the other games or last night(but he did) just that it's the same bruce every week so why vote for him when we win and not when we lose?

He played the same style as every other week (as did every other player) just not as effective. The Wanderers CBs are probably the biggest in the league and Bruce struggled against them.

i think everyone is missing my point....
he plays one way....and if we win everyone votes him as best on ground...when we lose noone votes for him....so either we shouldnt be voting for him when we win or we should when we lose aswell?

I have to admit I am missing your point.

Who in the team doesn't play the same way every week? I vote based on how effective they were in the team from week to week. This week Bruce was not effective so no votes. Last week he got an assist and was involved in a lot more play so he got a vote. Also don't think it is all that often that strikers get MOTM when their team gets thumped.

Looking at who we had in our squad, Jeronimo might have been a better choice. Maybe no point in bashing yourself up against NTS and Beauchamp the whole game. We may have had more luck with Jeronimo stretching them. They were far too comfortable. Easy to say in hindsight and you have to reward players who play well.

Against Brisbane though I think Bruce is still a better fit.

he was as effective last night as other nights (exception of the game he set up a couple goals) that he got votes, when we win we credit him, if we won last night i don't doubt he would have got votes....so what i am saying is why are we saying he is so effective when we win but when we lose and he has played the exact same way we don't say he was effective? is it a case of results making him look better than he actually is, because if Dario and Carrusca and Ferreira weren't banging in goals and assists every week would we be questioning bruce only scoring one goal and having 2 assists in 11 games.
not bad to get 6% of the votes as a striker with those stats.

That's where you and I disagree.

It'd be nice if he was banging in more goals but is it possible that the role he's playing in the team is helping Dario, Carrusca and Ferreira bang in goals? He's quite good at pressuring defenders for one and we have scored quite a few goals this season from being able to turn the ball over early.

bruce plays a different game to smeltz and archie etc, i agree, but looking at most of the goals vido and carrusca jero etc have scored he hasnt had much to do with it. i agree he works hard, and holds the ball better than most and scares defenders with his physicality, and im not saying he shouldn't play or jero should start, i am just of the opinion people think he does more or is more important than he really is, i for one would like to see more goals from him and he isn't short of opportunities to score whilst still playing the role he does.
