Usucar gone

Apparently wasn't at training today and there are reports he has signed for Técnico Universitario of Ecuador.

Google translate (though it's really horrible)
Another team that did not have a good first semester was ending and the Technical University in the penultimate position in the table only surpassing Olmedo Riobamba. Given this situation and poor performance, the picture ambateño Mario Saralegui decided to separate and three of its foreign players.

To replace the quarterback came Uruguayan José "Pepe" Basualdo while also already learned that the leadership of the "Red Roller" agreed the introduction of its first foreign reinforcement, it is the Uruguayan Usucar Francisco, who serves as the wheel of brand and in his career he has played in teams as Defensor Sporting, Rampla Juniors, Spanish and Adelaide Central Club of Australia.

The leadership of the Atletico players will continue to seek to strengthen the staff and are considering hiring a central defender and a striker.

Didn't want him to leave either. Not great on the ball but a bit of a junk yard dog in terms of his defending. Would have been useful at times this season. I guess we can use one of our CDs in the same way this year.

It was clear he wasn't one of Kossie's favourites.

If SVD finds a club we will have no foreign players in our squad (on a technicality). Is that a first for the HAL?

Any word if there was a transfer fee or free transfer? Im assuming free transfer.

I doubt usucar going will give us much more money inside the cap as when he signed it seemed fairly well known we got him for very very little

I liked Pancho, gave everything whenever he took to the pitch. Good luck mate!
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

To be perfectly honest just another example of a waste of a visa spot.

Yes he gave his all, yes he was passionate and yes he was tough, but really, did he offer anything else than an Australian player would?

Visa spots need to be occupied by quality players, Pancho was decent, but nothing outstanding.

Loved his passion but I agree. He brought little other Australians already have.

Visa spots are there to fill in the blanks that we cant find from aussie players, right now we have every position covered so why not look for some diamonds in the ruff,

Usucar was said to be on minimal money and frankly was worth a try, id like to see more sigings like his in the future

Ah, crap. I've got a feeling we'll be wishing he was still around as the season wears on.

Thanks for your spirit Pancho. Won't forget your toe-to-toe with Muscat in your first game.

Best of luck to him! I remember watching his first game (and our best of 2010-11) at the Port Club. We'll never forget his first 15 minutes: standing up to Muscat.

Hopefully he'll be at the supporter groups'/players' function on Friday night.

I agree but I think a player like Melling could be given more of a chance now with Pancho gone. Which as sad as I am to see him leave, is a good thing.
