I gotta admit, I tuned out a lot so am willing to accept corrections from others that were at the match :p i already see that it was Elsey in CB, ive never heard of him?? Note that where ever I say Bowles I mean him. He was great though. Anyway, this is how I saw it

McKain and Cass rested. 27 as CB, young tall blonde lad - I think Bowles? Golec LB. Fyfe DM. Serg upfront.
Besides that same starting line up as Bunyodkor.

2" Mullen, great cross in, Serg just heads wide.

5" free to AU, Vido in swinger, Boogs headers too high

Golec playing very high, basically in midfield with a 3 man defence. Fyfe doing great job dropping back in.

11" AU goal. A standard front post corner delivery from us, goal keepers dropped it and was scrambled in by someone lol

1-0

12" Serg collects ball at feet, turns and shoots from 21 yards out, basically a pass to keeper.

13" Cara out wide to Mullen. Cross to close to keeper, collected. Good movement

Fyfe getting a lot of space

15" Rambo header tap in off keeper, not sure if he shot to get the deflection. I tunes out.

2-0

Barbs pretty much missing from the game thus far

19" great run from Vido past the LB, Raiders counter and score but it's offside

22" Barbs releases Rambo, great ball. Cross too long tho

Mullen playing high up, having a good game. Caravella very influential.

25" Raiders pushing but Boogs well on top of it.

26" Raiders score off a rebound from Eug, again offside. United lucky.

27" Vido fouled. 30 out, direct free kick shot just wide to the left from Dario.

28" AU goal. Vido pressures LB, wins it, centres to Serg who slots past the keeper.

3-0

Playing it mostly along the turf, like 85% of passes. Pity the pitch is sandy.

33" loose ball pounced on by Raiders, shot saved by Eug fully stretched. Hung onto it too.

36" Golec wins a crunching header, Ramsey takes and runs with it, fires it 2 feet too high over the cross bar.

Mullen and Golec playing bigger roles in the mid than Barbs

38" Serg goal from great Rambo cross. Serg pulled away from defenders. Golec with ball over the top to release Rambo in the first place.

4-0

43" Raiders whip in, healthy header blocked by Bowles

45" Rambo turns and shoots from the 18, easily saved

HT 4-0

Mullen basically playing RWB, Golec LWB. Vido dropping in as Mullen passes him. Probably no room for Barbs to make an impact. Caravella BOG right now, very in control, a lot of pass and goes and great switches. Barbs MIA, Serg working his arse off. Bowles most impressive, composed on the ball and making smart decisions on and off the ball.

Birra between the sticks for 2nd half, Dilveski at RB over Mullen, Cara off for Kostopoulos. He's on the right, Vido in the middle.

49" Raiders on break, Birra comes out early and smartly to win it. Offside anyways.

51" and the same, a couple feet offside

AU toying with it early, practising passing and allowing Raiders to run at defence, which they are handling well. A lot of long balls from Raiders.

53" Vido run, flick to Serg, shoots saved

54" Rambo in space, hits it wide in the air across goals

58" Serg gets space, 30 out, fires wayward over the bar

59" great ball across the turf thru the mid, Vido collects, rounds the keeper, chips and hits the far post. Defender collects.

Barbs has touched it more this half already then his first half total.

60" Boogs off, Fyfe to CB, Pancho to DM

60" Raiders break, Birra off his line, striker chips and Birra scrambles back to collect out of the air.

61" Barbs with space 35 out, shoots into keepers arms

62" lovely movement from Serg, passes to Vido who slips in Rambo who then misses his 1st touch

62" Bowles chasing a miss queued  back pass, silly pass to Birra but clears successfully under pressure

64" Bruce on, Barbs off. Watson on, Ramsay off.

Evan on the left, Vido right, Bruce in middle with Serg sitting behind him. Watson floating around jn the middle really, seems to be no set position...

65" great ball from Raiders, split the defence. Birra out early again and pounces well. Quick release to Evan who breaks and let's Golec thru who runs into a dead end. Evan really showing some class since he's been on, taking on and stepping around players.

74" Dilevski with a shot over the bar, good to see him fit

75" Vido scores, scramble in the 6 yard, Serg with the foot skills and cut back to Vido

5-0

Just earlier Birra with a quick throw to release Serg who ran with some pace not often seen from him, cut in to Bruce but 1st touch was missed

77" Vido release Dilevski out wide, crosses in and Golec skies with the laces

Raider again broken in twice in the last minute, and both again offside. Home crowd not happy with the linesmen, but they have seemed legit calls from here.

79" Teeboy on, Vido off. Da Silva on Serg.. Watson to RB, Teeboy RW. Da Silva behind Bruce

81" Evan to Bruce at the top of the D, and skies the shot.

83" Teeboy with a great run down the right, whips it in across the face put Bruce can't get to it.

84" Golec over the top to Pancho, keeper saves but spills, collects the crumbs off Bruce.

Pancho looking more comfortable on the ball than usual

86" 4 AU players break, Teeboy with it on the right but can't get it in past the one defender

88" Ricardo out to Teeboy, crosses in but keeper just gets to it before Bruce

Gotta say, haven't really noticed Watson since he's come on

FT 5-0

Positives tonight for me

Caravella's dominance
Elsey with full confidence, very impressive
Birra great in goals, sad to see him go, as we all know
Golec great in attack
Dilevski looking fit

Haha I was about 4 rows in front of you and slightly to the left wearing a cream colored hoodie with black hair, sitting with my missus. Near the old guy yelling at the linesman. Good to see all the rested and subed players sitting with fans and mingling a bit.

If it was up to me SVD would be starting the Gamba game, love DJs enthusiasm and the way he holds possession but he doesn't have the class of Van Dijk. Also thought vidosic played well. I'm really hoping we get a home final now, fired up for next week.

Good game wrap up Nash, pretty much as I saw it too.

Thanks for that very comprehensive! Apparently the crowd was closer to 800-1000. The main grandstand which was apparently full holds 450.
Good night for AU exactly what they would want out of these matches. Lots of positives and no injuries!

Awesome on the agreeing front lol, still don't consider myself very knowledgable on the football front but am learning.

Another massive positive for me was the different formation play arounds, and putting players in various positions they may not normally be in. Something that should definitely be done in scratch matches - who knows what injuries in the future could force.

So who's this Elsey? He had a great game, and showed a LOT of promise.

He's a youth league player. I think he's been with AUFC for two seasons now. He's also in the current ACL squad but he's yet to make it to the bench. Great news that he's showing promise. Not sure if he's in line for a senior contract as AU only have one spot left on their roster but you never know!

Didn't seem like 800-1000 grandstand was only about 80-90% full, good to hear though!

Elsey is from the NYL team I'm pretty sure.

Elsey was very classy! :)

I believe it was a Reds fan who snotted another Reds fan - as far as I could tell they are from separate supporters groups - in the face and wanted to go on with it. I had the pleasure of breathing in snotter's flare smoke at the last trial game. Seems a real 'tough guy' - especially with his retard sheep following him around. I don't know what the other guy did to provoke him but words don't equal a punch in the face, do they?

Not as far as I know.

Maybe Red Terrace v Red Army rivalry flaring up?
I love AUFC more!
I love AUFC more!
No I love AUFC more!
I love AUFC more!
Whatever it was it wasn't as bad as the heroic act I witnessed after a AU v MV match where a MV fans was walking along by himself and a AU fan bravely ran up behind him and punched him in the back of the head! Disgraceful!
