EXCLUSIVE: Gold Coast United midfielder Jake Barker-Daish is set to sign with Adelaide United after a rollercoaster season on the Glitter Strip.

The creative Young Socceroo joined United at the start of this season after impressing then coach Miron Bleiberg.

Haven't seen a great deal of this kid but AU need some creativity in the midfield so he will hopefully a good pick up!

Sounds like a good pick up!! If we keep Vidosic and Serg he could develop nicely into a pacey winger to help lighten the load on Ramsey!!!!

If Barker-Daish is half as good as I think he is then that looks very juicy indeed!

I can't see Melling being anything more than a bit player next season. He's a bit too raw still, lots of enthusiasm and energy but it doesn't achieve much. Vidosic is going to dominate next year- no other option. Hopefully barker daish can play RW, that's where we really need someone to step up.

I'd have Melling ahead of Barbiero currently, and he will only improve..

Excited about B-D, if there's one thing we know Kossie does right it's identifying talent in young players and getting the best out of them.

Yeah but too often these sorts of guys will be overlooked for a 32 year old English journeyman or something - not that those players don't have their place in the A-League but it's great watching players whose stars are on the rise..

From what I have seen of Melling he has a touch of class IMO. I personally can see a bit of Paul Reid in him. Happy to get stuck in but has a great pass and vision. Not anywhere near Paul's standard yet but he's on the way!

That's what I see as well, time is on his side but that is definitely the sort of player he needs to mould himself on.
