Saw this on tiktok this morning, pretty interesting.

For those who don't tiktok it's a snippet from a podcast interview with JBD where he talks about Gombau coming in, his playing style requiring a higher fitness level and Jake wasn't fit enough so he was seeing a trainer from Port Power. Josep calls Val's son a shit goalkeeper and then Val does a hit piece on the clubs fitness levels and Jake is named/quoted in the article (possibly from the trainer at Power?) and he cops a 2 week suspension and never played for the club again.

Training with Port would have been a good move. Darren Burgess (now at the Crows, but also had two stints at Liverpool) would have been in charge of fitness at Port Adelaide then. He was at one point going to part of the selection panel for assessing potential coaches for Adelaide (the one that eventually selected Gombau I think) before politics got in the way (More likely the extreme bad blood between Greg Griffin and Port Adelaide than code wars nonsense.)
