Great result pretty bad performance.
We should have put at least 5 or 6 past them.
I'm not sure whats happened to Bruce but he wouldn't hit a barn door today.
But I'm just so happy we're in the ACL for sure now. No one can take that away now!

Should have been 10-0!

I thought pretty boy Lev was really good tonight. Caravella was classy when he came on and while he sometimes holds it too long it's because we just don't move off the ball enough. Melling has a lot of potential, he always passes smartly in front of the player and gets them off their heels. Van Dijk was the excellent Van Dijk.

Watson, who i've tried to like, is truly shithouse. Vidosic, for all his moments of skill, is largely an inefficient creative mid and was a bit cocky (and doesn't GET the ball enough, often waits for it) when he beat a couple of players. Djite should have passed to Serg when he was wide open and through on goal and was his usual frustrating self. Barbs was OK. Cassio had a solid game. I still wonder about Ramsay and Malik did a job.

It's a start though and we're in the ACL!

Once we scored the goal i have to admit i felt for the indonesians.

Their heads dropped immediately and i realised their team was made up of mainly west papua natives and i started hoping to see them do well.

That said, we played shit... Im over vidosic!! Melling makes a bigger impact

How can people be bagging Vidosic, he is the only player who has the ability to run at players and take them on, going forwards he creates alot of chances, we need to play the ball to him more often.

Watson had a solid game and Melling should start against Sydney. He does so much work in the midfield, his tackling and passing is brilliant

I feel we looked far better when Caravella came on. Although he missed a few passes we seem to have a bit more direction with him.
All in all I'm happy. We got the win, a few young kids got some gametime, no injuries. Sure I would have loved to see us piece together some better play but we got everything we wanted.

I agree about Vidosic, who would you drop for Melling? Barbs, Malik or Rambo?
IMO Caravella has to come back in for Rambo.

Probably Barbs, he plays the same type of position. Yeah Rambo would be better off the bench in the last 20.

We were bloody rubbish tonight, absolutely piss poor

No effort,poor passing, no cohesion.
No good when your defenders do most of the scoring in game you totally dominate.
Sitting in the lower deck you notice how quiet the team is ! Only heard Eugene go off at Levchenko, hardly any chatter!!!
We only looked slightly better when Melling came on.
Just think what the scoreline could have been if that had been Brisbane or CC instead of us out there. (or even Viddies ACL sides - what damage would they have done)

Though Lev played his best game for us so far (not hard as he played so few). Cassio, Boogard and surprise surprise Watson had servicable games
SVD looked like he was sleepwalking. Did Ramsey have an injury as he loked a bit hobbly when he came off?

Bruce-- if he's still on loan, send him back, he's just getting worse.
Vidosic-- let him go to Brisbane if he wants to go, he thinks he's the Aussie Messi, only problem is he's just Messy. Great passes to no one, loses the ball to easily, just stand in front of him and he'll cough it up.
Barbs looks like he's got Spangnello/Pantelis disease.

Great effort by Persipura, not the most skilled outfit but they played well with no striking power.
Did'nt time waste or go the thug, deserved better.

I have said for years how good the Asian refs are the Japanese ref tonight was fantastic, wish we could have that style in the A League.

On tonights performance the Sydney game should end any chance of the finals(if we really had any).
Spell the dead wood and give the kids a run as a run up to the ACL proper.

I'm perhaps harsh on Vido. I still like his play and think he's exciting, just wish he would get stuck in a tiny bit more.

Was Caravella playing left wing/dropping into midfield when he came on? I was drunk by then. I thought he played well, he always presents deeper in the hole in midfield for the pass because he knows he can turn.

I think once Boogard scored they relaxed a bit too much, maybe with Sunday in the back of their minds? Would have been pretty disappointed if we had any injuries, would have worse if we had lost. We looked pretty average out there, especially the last 15-20 minutes where anyone and everyone was taking shots on goal instead of playing in SVD, glad he got a goal in the end but they had pretty much given up already.

Best refereeing I've seen in Hindmarsh for a long time, commentators weren't too bad, Im kind of disappointed that Kevin Muscat doesn't do all our ACL commentary though :P

Also, credit to Persipura they played a fair game and 2 out of 3 of their players that went down injured were actual substituted off. They played a fair, clean game and credit to the ref who had a great game. We are a fair team and perhaps the better quality of refereeing suits us much more than in the A League with our shocking refs.

sorry I could not join you guys tonight. I found myself at an Australian bar and offered my laptop as the source equipment to watch the game on the big flat screen behind the bar. The result was about 8 or 9 happy Australians watching Adelaide United in action whilst drinking beers in Phnom Penh B)
