Reds Chairman rallying support for GCU counterpart

Postby Stuckey Tue Feb 14, 2012 11:33 pm

Adelaide United FC has been advised that Gold Coast United Chairman Clive Palmer has been short-listed for the National Trust list of 100 National Living Treasures.

The Club is delighted that Clive, a great Australian and a genuine friend of Adelaide United has received this nomination.

What an odd thing to do from AU? Especially considering how time poor the club is why bother wasting their time with something like this? Odd also in the list is FFA chairman Frank Lowy, why not mention him?

FYI did you know the Clive is a professor?

I've had a look at the list.
He has no hope.

I feel fucking dirty that AU's chairman has publically associated himself with this weasel. Fuck off and die in a fire Palmer.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Except for bagging out Football which i feel was done out of frustration at the FFA. I agree with most of the things Clive is conserned about. Clive is just sticking it to the FFA like many of us want to.

Grif's just angling for some of Clive's legal work so then he has enough money to buy Messi for AU's marquee role in a few weeks.

Yes he is!

ADELAIDE United chairman Greg Griffin has endorsed renegade club owner Clive Palmer, claiming he should be part of the FFA's business team.

While Griffin didn't agree with all of Gold Coast United owner Palmer's recent comments, he said Adelaide's principal owner, Robert Gerard, and Palmer should be working closer with FFA chief executive Ben Buckley.

"He's got one of the worst stadium deals in the country and he is showing us the way with youth. It's the way to go for the A-League ... by blooding young players you set yourself up for long term survival."
I agree. I think honestly if every club had their own Clive the league would be in far better shape. (but hopefully they would all act the same way!)

You can tell clive is a businessman in a football world some things he says does not wash, but last night he made good points also.

If owners are truly onboard with him , it seem our owners atthe very least are then it may be a good thing as all the men with the money want to see change...

This is where its different from the past imo, those who wanted change were in debt.

End of the day the aleague needs to be seperate from ffa operations
