Hernandez to AU?

Postby Stuckey Fri Jan 27, 2012 2:44 am

ADELAIDE United missed out on re-signing Nathan Burns but Carlos Hernandez is now looming to be a real prospect to add clout to its Asian Football Confederation campaign.

Victory's Costa Rican international playmaker may be in a Reds shirt as early as next week before the A-League's transfer window closes for business.

Someone at AU must absolutely love him. He has been linked with us about 5 times I reckon.
Not too sure how much I'd want him. Two seasons ago I would have taken him in a heart beat but now not as much. I thought he was over 30 but he is 29.

I would take him in a heatbeat. Kossies fitness regime would suit hm perfectly and it would go a long way to filling the void flores left.

Clearly hes not happy at the Victory, but does he hate them that much to go to their rivals?
We are UNITED, after all....

Fark yeah!!!

I support anything that will enrage MV fans !!

I assume he would play an attacking mid role, with vidosic moved to the left?

I think vidosic would be better there as he can run at players and you know he will put decent crosses in , for me he has struggled in the number ten role as he gets marked out of the game

Hernandez isnt someone from victory ive ever disliked, he is by no means a thug and plays the game fairly. He is one of the only guys from mv i wouldnt mind in adelaide

i would take him purely for the finger up at MVFC especially if he does well. but more importantly its important to have quality depth for ACL.

Obviously never the fittest, but I think he is clearly struggling right at this point. Been subbed after 60 minutes the last two matches.

I have always been a big fan of Hernandez, I think it would be good to have a player who will play their guts out for 60-70 mins and then sub Ramsay into LM and Vidosic back to CAM. I will be very happy if he comes to Adelaide but apparently the Costs Rican national team coach wants him to play in a tougher league if he wants to be capped (read this a couple of months ago though so it may have changed since).

Great player and can score from distance, can anyone remember the last threatening shot on target Adelaide took from outside the 18 yard box?

Most times vandijk takes a dead ball from outside the box .

This will probably mean ramsay will be gone next year as vidosic will likely head to the left.

A cassio vidosic partnership down the left could be dangerous!

I just hope if we sign players for a 442 diamond to fit kossies plans that the club intends to play this way. The following season and not employ a different coach with complete different style

Melbourne Victory's Costa Rican international playmaker may be in a Reds shirt as early as next week before the A-League's transfer window closes for business on Valentine's Day.

Adelaide officials will formally discuss the prospect of hiring Hernandez at a board meeting on Monday after the Reds face Perth Glory at Hindmarsh on Sunday.

Vidosic is our dead ball specialist. Hernandez can just hit them from way out!
