Michael Marrone
According to Wiki signed a two year deal with the Heart at the beginning of last season which means he should be off contract at the end of this one, unless he has been given a new one since ???
Would love to see him come home and solve our RB problem - quality player.

Re: Michael Marrone
He was close to signing with a Italian club at one stage but a change of managers resulted in him being overlooked. But that experience would just give him more motivation to go O/S, so highly doubt he would want to stay in the A-League. If he can't find a club then sure.

Re: Michael Marrone
Yeah so unlucky for Michael Marrone. He was gonna sign with Serie A club Cagliari, as the then coach Roberto Donadoni really liked his game. But Donadoni got sacked before the season started (think he had a falling out with the club president), and the new coach didnt want him.
I think he might trial overseas again at the end of this season, but if he doesnt get a club (and if he's isnt contracted to the Heart), i would love it if we got him back. Marrone is class.

Still can't understand how we let him go but re-signed Pantelis!

Re: Michael Marrone
We offered him a contract when he had his knee injury , it was a small offer ( lets remember he was a youth player with a long term knee injury not even playing in national rep teams) , marrone refused the offer which was gutsy!Still can't understand how we let him go but re-signed Pantelis!

He came back into the squad and and played really well, but the club had already covered his position and couldnt re sign him due to the salary cap.
I dont think anyone was to blame , it was just the cards that were delt

Re: Michael Marrone
Thats what I'm saying why bother signing Lucas when we couldn't afford to sign a fantastic up and coming talent? He was on $45,000 and probably would have stayed if we increased his wage to $65-$70,000 in a cap of $2.77m its not a huge amount of money. We offered him a contract when he had his knee injury , it was a small offer ( lets remember he was a youth player with a long term knee injury not even playing in national rep teams) , marrone refused the offer which was gutsy!Still can't understand how we let him go but re-signed Pantelis!

At least thats one thing the new owners have learnt. As soon as Teeboy played for us we locked him into a three year deal.

Re: Michael Marrone
- See more at: http://www.adelaideunited.com.au/articl ... bNb7B.dpufAfter rupturing his Achilles tendon in Adelaide United’s Grand Final triumph in May, Michael Marrone’s return to football is taking some time, but he’s on the way.
Sounds very positive. I wonder if we can see him back earlier than expected?

4 months in and he's already doing light work.
I reckon we will see him back on the field around Xmas.

Re: Michael Marrone
6 months until return to sport per Google.I thought torn Achilles' were a minimum of a year off?
I reckon full blown back into it will be longer. Hopefully will get some use out of him in the back half of the year.

I think 12 months is the worst case scenario. It depends on the grade of the injury.I thought torn Achilles' were a minimum of a year off?

It would be wonderful if he was back by then. Just in time to get games under his belt before the ACL kicks off.4 months in and he's already doing light work.
