2011/12 Season Update

2011/12 Season update – A big challenge
The word ‘challenging’ may be an understatement given the pre-season expectations of the club, the supporters and football experts around the country. History will show that any exciting new signings in the off season are quickly followed by talk of championships and the like.

This sequence of events is not unique to Adelaide with all ten Hyundai A-League clubs seeking success ahead of every season. It is one thing to expect or assume your club will be automatically at the top end of the ladder, and entirely another to dismiss every other club's right to improve, hence the Hyundai A-League has become a fiercely competitive competition in Australia with an increasingly high level of football.

Being a third of the way into the season, in order to keep you, our valued supporters, up to date with the goings on at the club, we would like to provide updates on the following:

i look forward to hearing what you all have to say about this. i like that we're hearing from the club, but parts of this seemed off putting... a little dismissive, slightly condescending, 'wiping the hands clean' and telling everyone to just calm the hell down! but i know i over react a lot.

I find most things we hear directly from AUFC Val has already reported on or they are just stating the obvious. It can sometime feel like they think we're idiots with quotes like
'We're one of ten team striving for success'
Really! i thought AU were the only team keen to win the league!

But as i have said before its better to hear from them then not at all!

I wished they would go into any sort of detail though.
They said former staff don't know our off-field position....so what is it?!
Time to Djbate!

Straight out of the pages of Pravda ...

Still, fair enough, you wouldn't expect the club, or any other club for that matter, to say anything different in this situation.

Wow, Saturday is receiving a huge kick along - I much prefer Friday night games, though Saturday is easier on the family...

Have to say after reading the whole thing it is pretty well written, their is a sense of pride and passion for AUFC in the release - it is not excuses but facts and tells it as plainly as they can what is going on.

Financial members will get a more in depth briefing than this.
